From Berkely Springs, WV, mapquest says its about a 2hr 17 minute drive, or 125.78 miles. Hopes this helps. PS. If there's still no one that can get it, then I'll put up another clue which just makes it toooo easy to find.
Alright, here's an addendum to the clues that doesn't give it entirely away. The route # is the displacement in ccm of the bike in the tag shot, minus 36.
I guess I am a dumbass but all the 614's I can find are in deep South Virginia, I am assuming this tag is in Va. Reckon I will have to wait for someone smarter, or more google smart, to figger it out.
Clue 3, 3 digits = 12. So it couldn't be route # 614...But I still have no idea...Closest I got was route #732 near Harrisonburg, but satellite image show no mill or river in the area....Will keep checking...
6+1+4 does not equal 12? Sumbiotch, I am a pilot so good thing I don't need math. The actual displacement of a KLR650 is 651 (2008) so 651-36=615. 6+1+5=12!! Aha now I am on to something........or maybe not.
I looked at 615 and didn't find any place that looked like it would match the tag clues. Maybe he has a KLR with the 685, or 705 kit installed?
You're on to something?? 615 is the best I can come up with, but being thousands of miles away from Vriginia, and Google earth is fuzzy along 615, I have nothing else to offer. Call me when the tag heads my way. edit: Got it. It's on Route 615 Rapidan road, and Old Rapidan road. Wow, how bored am I??
Nice find! I was hunting up and down the WRONG route 615 (didn't know there were at least 2 in the state). I was looking at route 615 that is North and West of Roanoke...Wasted a good hour..
Where I come from, blatantly posting the tag location is not kosher. On the other hand, you helped out all the folks planning to grab it in the AM. I hate to say it but someone move it out of VA! Other states may have highway route indexes like these: http://www.vahighways.com/route-log/index.htm
While I agree with this for the state based games, it was posted earlier that the NA ToR is not intended to have quite the trivia aspect. Blinker mentioned keeping the location easy to find so the rider passing through can grab a tag without having to sit around figuring out clues.
Dang, it was in Pa then crept back down to Va again. I was really hoping someone would grab it that was headed to Daytona to put some miles on this game..
That's what I figured, and that's why I posted a shot. He did turn it into a bit of a trivia challenge that got many more than myself involved in figuring it out. Add to that the fact that all I can do is trivia, as the weather here still sux, and will for some time yet. I have the winter blahs already, don't kick me out of some vicarious motorcycle adventure just yet. Last night, and the second one was 2 days ago. Do you see me riding??
Thanks dude!! I had spent about 5 hours looking for the wrong road and had about hit the wall on this one. If its still there Monday it will go to PA, I promise.
