We always do a recon ride a few weeks before the rally to check out the camp site and riding
conditions. Anybody is welcome to come, you don't have to be attending the rally.

Saturday March 28th is the day. We'll meet at Bad Ass Coffee in Santa Rosa, 90 Mark West Springs Rd.
at 8am. Roll out by 8:15. If anybody is coming from the valley we'll rendezvous at the Chevron station at the corner of Hwy 29 and Hwy 20 at 10:30 (or close to that).

We'll head north out of Upper Lake to Lake Pillsbury and check out camp. Maybe do a little riding
around there then head south to the east entrance of Cow Mtn OHV and play around in the OHV for awhile. Exit the west side of Cow Mtn. at Ukiah and head back from there.

We can stop for lunch and/or dinner if the group feels like or just ride the entire time.

Post in the thread if you're interested.

As of now, still planning to do this ride.
However, we'll just be meeting in the parking lot
since Bad Ass will be closed stemming from the
Sonoma County shelter in place order.

I want to get up there and speak with the camp hosts
as what PG&E is planning for the camp grounds relating
to groups of people congregrating in a small area.

I would like to ride up there also.

I could probably ride Scott’s Creek, but don’t know about playing around at Cow OHV on a 400 pounder.

No single track. Just fire roads and maybe some jeep trails. Rode up there a couple
of weeks ago. Where we would be riding is pretty easy as long as your riding at
a moderate or slow pace. Just have to keep an eye out for a few ruts and maybe
some deep puddles if it rains.

Interested. I'd most likely make a Social Distancing weekend out of it and bring my camp stuffs.

This ride was only a week away. We won't be over the shelter in place order by that time.

I'm agreeing with a number of people in various threads about one of us getting
hurt and using up first responder resources. I don't think that's fair to society.
This ride is for pleasure and not essential.

If things calm down in a few weeks we'll reschedule.

I was thinking the same thing just about my normal life. I would hate to get hurt and even have to go into the doctors. They all have enough on their plates right now although camping seems like a perfect way to social distance from the world.

Thank you for thinking carefully about what's the right thing to do. We will get through this epidemic if we all can manage to focus on what's truly essential for just a short while.

    Take care.

They say most accidents happen around the home
Maybe we would be safer out riding.
    Just kidding of course.

Hey Ken that's very generous of you. This thread is for the recon ride, a ride before the rally to check
out the conditions in the rally area. So we just cancelled the ride, not the rally, yet.
    But it's getting iffy.

Also, no costs have been incurred. We have collected $ via PayPal but since it's not a business
we don't pay any fees so, if we cancel we can refund everybody at no cost. The only costs we have within
2 or 3 days of the rally is the camp reservation, but it's too early to even do that so nothings out of pocket.

But i really appreciate the offer. Thanks.
