“Black Flies” .... ride hard and fast... don’t stop. Lol
That's new information to me. On GMaps, I believe I found the road you saw. Putting it in satellite mode, looks like some of it crosses a bog, making it a winter road. A bunch of years ago I know some folks from here made an attempt, and failed. Yes, more research and maybe an attempt beckons.
Likely bog area:
The site is hacked. I called Trader and they asked that I send a message to info@Canadamotoguide.com. Unfortunately it came back as unreachable.
Well there goes any email logins we had for commenting.
Thanks for the look. My heart leapt for a moment when I saw a possible route.
Going around the Lake will eventually happen. The logging roads may eventually connect up.
Ontario North West Passage?
I missed the anniversary date of this thread....

Way to go ZZR Ron.
It would be fun to see who checks in after all these years.
I have to admit, not on this site much any more.
Well you can fix that..... let’s do a run next year... try to make it a reunion!
Get well wishes to Lappeman. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Yes, best of luck to Rob!
Bummer. Should be one i host on tent space!
- Let me know if you want to do iriam loop this upcoming summer.
I ain't dead yet...even though I feel like it! LOL! Thanks for the best wishes guys! Does anyone have any plans to ride to the D2D and then up to Tuk this Spring? I ain't getting any younger and my body is trying to kill me...so thought I should do this soon!
Take lots of photos....
Did the D2D and trip to Inuvik in 2012. Was in Inuvik for the longest day. Came out of the bar at 2 am, and it was like it was 2 pm. Sun bright in the sky and +28 degrees.
The scenery all the way from the BC border, and especially up the Dempster, is like no where else in the world. It is a long way to go and have always wanted to go back, but so many other places that i need to go first. I think if I were to do it again i would trailer my CRF250 and make a slow photo run up on that.
Did Tuk and Deadhorse August 2018 on my 1090; Dempster is amazing! Would definitely do it again, hopefully without running into a snow storm this time
Does anyone have some KLR/BMW shims they are interested in selling or trading?
I am in Dryden but will cover shipping on a sale or trade
and either 1-255, or another 2-250
29mm BMW shims are the same
That's a cloud shadow covering the Jackfish River road near Seymour Lake. There's a nice camping spot there. Road is very driveable way past this spot.
Looks like the closest the two road networks get is near Ketchikan Lake (433114E 5579895N Zone 16N Nad83) but it would take a Camel Trophy-esque effort to cross that swamp. Not saying I wouldn't do it, but damn, it wouldn't come easy. Likely no problem up to there though.
