Some quick notes from our visit:

The Blackcreek to Elliot Lake backroad is a fantastic ride (Jimmy and his son Lucas)

The firetower overlook is worth the short ride north of town

The Chapleau to Dalton road has 3 culvert washouts and a beaver dam backing up about 30" of water - not recommended for ADV bikes, but our dualsports got through with some effort

If a person were to start in Iron Bridge and ride 546 > Blackcreek > Ranger Lake Rd, I should think they would experience as close to the perfect ADV route as anyone could imagine.
Nothing technical or difficult, but certainly everything there to enjoy on an adventure bike - smooth gravel, rough gravel, sand/gravel/dirt, scenic pavement, a few short water crossings with solid bottoms and bear poop.

In-laws just bought some property up in the Bruce Mines area so we have been up there twice this year camping. Looking at going up on the bike in Oct. to do some deer season prep and will likely take the bike to do some exploring while I'm there, enjoying these recomendations!

Anyone ridden through - north of Iron Bridge, from 546 -> east on Country Rd -> turns into Frame Cresent -> Elliot Lake ?

If you are talking about what looks like a road just east of Constance Lake on the south side of 546 then that is a service road that follows the hydro line. It is also used as a logging road sometimes, by atvs in the summer and is part of the OFSC snowmobile trails in the winter. It does not actually connect to 546 but turns southwest about 100 yards or so before 546, so it is easy to miss. I have never figured out why a bushed road is labeled Frame Cresent on some maps. Frame is actually a town house complex off of Axmith Ave. Your best bet is to check a OFSC map or pick up a local fishing map.

Actually heads east a fair bit north of Constance lake, but does mostly follow a hydro line so sounds like the one. So does it actually connect to 546? See attached

It does not run to 546 but there was a short trail/path connecting them a few years ago. I imagine it is still there. Easiest way to locate this is to watch for hydro line crossing 546. I rode 546 last weekend so likely won't be up there again for a while. My earlier directions are based on the fact that I consider 546 as running east/west even if it actually runs on an angle.

I switched sat view on google maps and now I see what you mean. The route I had in mind joins into that hydro line but comes in from further north. If you look on Sat view it shows a trail following the hydro line all the way to 546 with a little trail cutting the corner right where it meets, I see that now.

Might think about adding this to a loop for October!

We rode that trail a couple weeks ago. It's very similar to the hydro line trails near Calabogie, if you've ever been.
Wouldn't recommend for anything larger than a KLR.

Thanks for the info. Have to see how far the F800 can make it.

Any parts better or worse than others? Was it just rugged, or mud holes/water crossings that made it more challanging?

No water, nothing too terrible, but you're definitely on trail and not road so expect it will take upwards of 2 hours to travel those 40kms.

Timmins to New post Falls anyone? Tomorrow Sunday July 25.
The forecast shows full sun at 6am so I’m planning to get an early start. It’s about 200 km one way. (Leaving from Holiday Inn Express.)
I will be heading south to Kirkland Lake on the way back.
Estimating 3 hrs one way, and about an hour to wander around and take pictures.
    I’m riding a F700GS.
