I thought I was fully committed to riding from Vermont south NEBDR to the MABDR to the TAT beginning in early August on my upcoming much anticipated xr650l adventure with a buddy on his DR. Well, its up in the mid eighties today in VT and I am reminded how much I suffer in the heat. Obviously it will only get worse in August and as we travel south. I'd love to head north to Canada but I'm afraid Covid has nixed that option. Can folks please weigh in on any northern state routes that they would be willing to share, bringing us generally west through for instance through NY, MI, WI, MN, ND, MT, ID??? I do like the idea of having a route planned that we can deviate from as needed, rather than just winging it.
This is a screen grab of a route I'm taking in the next 3 weeks. If you look up the "northern route" I used some of his tracks to get yo utah. It's still going to be a hot one forsure! Currently its 95° in southern wisconsin.
Did you do this route this year? how much of this route is dirt? how long did it take? Is this route onine anywhere to download?
