r668, good to hear about your trip and lots of places to see up north.

achieved one of my goals by riding a portion of the 395 to the Canadian border.

i'm riding in San Diego this week and will be searching where the 395 starts (end?)

    https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/sdc/dpw/aboutdpw/old395.html

DPW installed "”Historic State Highway Route 395” signs on County-maintained roads that lie on the original US 395 route in Bonsall, Fallbrook, and Rainbow as well as in the unincorporated area of Vista. Signs mark South Santa Fe Avenue between Smilax Road and Montgomery Drive in the unincorporated area of Vista, East Vista Way from Osborne Street north to State Route 76 in Bonsall, (South) Mission Road from State Route 76 north to Main Avenue in Fallbrook, Main Avenue from (South) Mission Road to (East) Mission Road in Fallbrook, (East) Mission Road from Main Avenue east to Interstate 15 in Fallbrook, and Old Highway 395 from (East) Mission Road / Sterling View Drive north to the Riverside County line in Rainbow.

still running away from the pandemic at home, and in the winter time, there's not much places to ride..... but go south, which is in sunny San Diego

this little town of Julian is packed

not staying here long just want the famous Julian Pie....but to stand and wait for 30 minutes...it's a no go
    [IMG]

next door is a bar but i don't enjoy alcohol
    [IMG]

don't we all like this sign?

For reference Apple Alley I think has much better pies and doesn't have nearly the wait time. :) Pro tip
