Nice! Thanks for sharing
I can see why
Did you know there was a drone following you?
Save or Scrap?
Get it running and have fun. It tops out at 45mph anyway, right? I say save it enough to make it a runner.
Sell it, there are many that would love to purchase a Willys flat fender Jeep project (not me though, I have learned my lesson a long time ago about putting money into old vehicles).
Are you kidding? SAVE SAVE SAVE! I assume it has no more rust underneath than it does on top.
How about this one?
Wow. I don't see any rust at all. I'm not used to this on the east coast.
Talked to a guy today as I was replacing the battery on my '03 TJ (just wouldn't start when it was 24F out). He said he had two CJ's, the second he bought for the frame. Then he discovered that the CJ really is quite a bit shorter than the TJ or later. He is a big guy.
I have a 51 3a driver that is waaaaaay rustier than that. that 3b is total survivor status
Izzat an old VW bus next to it?
Looks like a Ford GPW...a very neglected example
You just learned me up! I did not know
The outline reminds me of the old "Toxic" shocks, but it appears it's different.
Thanks. This JKUR is from Canada. Was a mall crawler.
I didnt know much about them before I visited my uncle in NC who has a pair of them from the pacific theater of WW2.
They are perfect for moving around his property
Willys supplied the majority of the Jeeps for the war but there were around 300k GPW's built for the war effort.
I didn’t really know about this thread here recently. But now that I know about it, I’m hoping to hang out here some. Id like to get more motivated to getting both my CJ7’s going again. Just a couple weeks ago I got my ‘84 CJ running again! I had parked it about 9 years ago (back in 2010!) and hadn’t touched it since. It has a 1st gen Ramjet 350 in it, and it got horrible fuel economy (about 8mpgs on the highway at 55mph @ about 2500 RPMs) and ran so rich that I would get headaches from breathing the exhaust. So finally I parked it. I did get the computer reflashed and a 02 sensor kit about 3 years ago, but did they around to installing it until a few weeks ago. All I can say is ethanol is a bad thing, and just letting a vehicle stilly like that is also a very bad thing! It took me over a week to get the whole electrical and fuel systems sorted from the long slumber! I still haven’t tried driving it yet (since it’s blocked in by a trailer and a non running forklift), but it does run, and it does run much more lean now!!!
I bought it back in 1998. It was pretty much an all stock Laredo back then. Now there are a bunch of goodies in it. It’s kinda ironic...I ended up buying a brand new ktm 450exc in 2005, but then only rode it about once a year for many many years since I was 4 wheelin my Jeep instead. Now I ride my ktm often, but rarely ever drive the Jeep. Maybe it will change sometime soon so that I will play with both now? We’ll see...
