I got a message this morning that CP 7010 is in St Paul too.
I took this picture on my way in to work and posted it before I was on duty. The 7015 was also there and was MU'd with these two and sent out on an executive train to Kansas City earlier today. When I got done for the day, I saw the 7010 with another F unit getting photographed at the roundhouse.
The 7010 and 7015 are in a series of 10 EMD SD 70 ACUs that are being painted in the maroon and grey heritage paint, in case anyone was wondering...
He covered the length of the River subdivision, which is my preferred run when I have to work the road. I've probably made between 1K-2k trips over that line.
I know this doesn't quite measure up, but... did a little dog walking in a park with a train system. Word from a visitor there was that they bring the train(s) out once a month for people to ride.
The red i-beam looking thing in the upper-left corner is a train turnstile ... or whatever they are called in train terms.
Seems like someone had a rather unfortunate accident.
Just got back from a trip to see the Big Boy 4014. I had tears in my eyes. What a magnificent beast.
I had to post this in the JM WTF thread...
Imbeciles...standing point blank on live track. It's moving @ around 40MPH as I took this. Ed was on the whistle big time as he passed.
Scenic railway in Jim Thorpe, PA closing:
You can't fix stupid.
Impressive sea of humanity here today to see this.
It does tend to draw a crowd!
Not in a good way, either.
This happened twice.
I guess there are two different logos on these units. This particular train, 197, was my regular assignment for a month, this past summer. It starts out a manifest freight from St. Paul, and then makes an intermodal pick up at Shoreham yard, in Minneapolis. Then we would continue to Glenwood and change crews. Not a bad, daylight, job...
I saw that on the news. I'm wondering if that will affect the railway from Reading/Hamburg to Jim Thorpe excursions ? I would think not. The section over the Hometown high bridge is pretty cool.
