Since people have been chatting about Gold Coast already, I'd like to point out they have some decent gear.

If you're wandering about Nassau, there's also Champion Honda (Old Country Road off the Wantaugh).

Yesterday, I switched my Waze back to Private vehicle instead of Motorcycle. I think because there are so few motorcyclists using Waze on that setting, it as giving me unrealistic traffic & ETA times. Example, my 11-mile return-commute from Gowanus to Astoria via the BQE in Private vehicle setting runs around 50-minutes, on a good day. In Motorcycle setting, Waze was telling me the same trip would be 20-minutes. While experience tells me the former is correct, seeing the latter pop up on my screen would give me a false sense of hope.

I posted this in an Aerostitch/Bohn thread and about 7 or 8 people posted they bought one. I guess I should share it with my "friends". If anyone is looking for a back protector for a Stitch or any other jacket as well as some other armor, Bohn is having a killer closeout on some gear. The Stitch protector is $25 shipped versus $129 regularly.

Thank you for passing this along. I've been switching the 'Stich BP between my Darien and RC for some time now and getting a second one has been on the list. Not sure if a Med or Lg in the Bohn would fit better but for $50 total I got one of each. Thanks again.

Anyone one know how the roads are out there? I commute from Harlem 125th up the Henry Hudson/9A to Yonker's/Tuckahoe and I'm wondering if I can take the bike tomorrow.

Took the bike down to PA today from the Bronx. My bike and gear are now covered in salt but the roads are fine. Should be even better tomorrow.

Anyone riding into work today? I’m worried about a few icy patches here and there, but I think yesterday all the roads cleared up for the most part

No issues at all this morning.

I installed my winter tires yesterday (knobbies) and siped them. It only took a few minutes to sipe each center lug. I took 9W instead of the PIP just to try out the new siped tires. The knobbies feel a bit squirrely but I'll have to start playing with the pressure in the tires to see if it gets better.

9W was in good shape with only a few small patches of ice. Toll plaza had a few small patches of snow accumulation right before the toll and in the center of the lane. Exit to 96th street of the HH was a bit icy.

    Stay safe and warm!

I rode. Little bit slower than usual, relearning how to read the wet patches.

NYC puts down enough salt that we don't need to get shelters for the homeless, we can just preserve them.

Made it all the way to the northern Nassau/Suffolk border without issue as well. Its the hills of the more rural northern Nassau County that worries me a bit more when it comes to ice and snow being left behind.
