Came out of school to this the other day:

The woman who knocked it over went into my school to find me at the same time I came out. She left her info in the office and they called me. She came out an apologized and gave me her info, but said she would rather pay for it, than go through insurance.
Her English was very limited and when I told her it was $231 (I just charged her for the parts and a few things with super minor scratches I ignored as she was nice and tried to find me) yesterday she brought me a check for $2,310 because that is what she thought I said. In the spirit of giving I was honest and told her she was wrong (sucker) and she gave me $300 cash.
I should have taken the check as I think I paid $1,200 for the scooter.:rofl

Got my replacement battery in the mail yesterday. Popped it into the GS this morning and rode for the first time in like 2 weeks. Had Peaches & Herb running through my head during the morning commute. Then popped the battery back out when I got home and put it on the charger since we'll be holiday-ing for the next week.

You know you haven't ridden in a while when...

I rode into work from Harlem to Yonker's today and there are some ice patches out there. Don't ride if you don't have to.

Harlem and Yonkers have plenty of traffic which makes it an easy ride.

I don't agree with you that folks shouldn't ride. If they want to ride they just have to be more careful out there.

Good way to put it. Ride if you want, but watch out for ice. It's out there in patches.

I passed by one this morning that took up a whole lane on the exit of a turn on route 100. You can't turn or stop on ice unless you have tire studs. Had I been in that lane and not noticed early enough I would have lowsided.

I rode today, but didn't see any ice. Except for the ice in my hydration pack. :dunno

Hey guys, so the worst happened.. Sort of. Parked bike in Jersey to drive to DC with wife and MIL. Came back to a dead battery and a dead mini jump starter as well (left the power button on it would appear). Push starting a 420lbs bike in subzero temperatures didn't work either.

Is anyone close enough to Cliffside Park to give me a jump in the morning tomorrow? I would much appreciate it.. Need to get back to Manhattan tomorrow somehow.
