Talking of borrowing. The banks are quietly encouraging clients to take up the govt loan scheme in order to reduce their overdraft. The banks want to transfer their liability to the govt. Banks , the mate who lends you an umbrella but wants it back when it rains.
Yes, banks are starting to worry about defaults. This shit is going to get much more messy before it gets better.
I don't know what percentage of businesses are in the shit but anecdotally the banks are very concerned
Not sure if it's district or regional council, (Northland) but they are asking for submissions from business and the public to establish rates relief going forward. Be interesting to see how it pans out. Must be some ADV riders in the council.
And me approaching retirement age suddenly finds himself way short on savings. And I have more set aside than most. At 4% I was ok just. Not sure how people are going to cope
as an alternate have a bike that is reregistered as 40 years old I have one built up from de-registered insurance write-off combined with a few bits from an old registered bike using the old bikes registration plates vin number frame number and engine number don't match the plate but never been a problem also own a 50 year old trailer that gets reregistered as a new trailer every few years so it gets three year WOF's instead of six month ones
Not legal but when you fill out the form to register a new trailer tick the box "new" no vin number is required for a home built trailer no inspection is done and the cost is less than the cost of the WOF's for the next three years
Most lightly internet BS... But I will post it anyway... Personally I have written off my $ I paid for 3 to make some return flights within NZ. 1 transaction on my card. They offer an airline credit for the 3 named persons, not the purchaser. Im also not sure how long this credit is available to claim and its very unlikely to be able to be put use in the foreseeable future. Goneburger. Sort of puts me off flying within NZ. Very unlikely to fly and local car hire now. Time and scheduling is not really problem for me so I will take my car and Motel it in the future.
