The total lack of sponsors logos is interesting, are they trying to keep it low key (compared to LWD). Would be keen to see if support vehicles are the same. Has there been confirmation they are swapping bikes every charge with ones in the support vans to keep progress happening? Is claudio also on a livewire?

Awesome - I really enjoyed LWR and it inspired me to do my ride around Australia in '07.

I just hope they keep Ewen's family out of it a bit more than what they did in LWD - it kind of took the shine of an incredible ride with mates a little but that's just my opinion.

I'll be watching and I don't really care how many support vehicles go - just glad there's people out there trying to promote the sport we love.

I'm with you on the family-tag-along score nev, I can still recall the look on Charlie's face as Ewen insists his wife will be coming along - priceless.

My own thoughts, LWR was far superior to LWD, which I found tedious.

The story suggests that Ewan's a bit of an electro-bike fan, so some Ying and Yang with his love of Guzzis!
Anyone know if these bikes use a clip-in battery pack to "refuel", or if they will just swap to identical bikes every 160km? It would be hard to exactly match the road munge, for continuity's sake. Must say I'm a bit sus on the pace they are managing, given that the days are short in winter that far south (Ushuaia is at about 56 deg S) and the distance they are covering suggests they are riding much more than 160 km per day.
Yeah, Claudio is along - he's in some of the pix.
Mrs P wonders if the Wolfmans are packed with cardboard to give that shape, or just hot air?

Or If they have an opposing view to yours.

Must admit I've never seen any of their movies(trips) but I can't see them riding electric being an issue unless they misrepresent the battery life or ability of the bikes in any way.

Amazed that BMW didn't lock them down for all future episodes in series using the name Long Way etc

( And since I own more than one vehicle that burns dirty stuff into the atmosphere I'll stay out of that other argument :D )

Reminds me of a incident I had yesterday in Hobart with a fella that owns a local motorcycle hire firm.
We were both talking about the environment and electric cars, he had his opinion and I had mine.
Fella spat the dummy and stormed off, just because I didn’t agree with his opinion, as I said to him I respect your opinion.:dunno

Geez - sorry I spoke! (posted)
Brave move, taking battery-powered toys on this route, but Blind Freddy would see that some form of support vehicle is required - either with gen-sets or boxes of spare electrons , so you have to wonder what their point is? That the bikes can be ridden on dirt roads? BMW used the previous "Longs" to huge effect. It'll be interesting to see what Harley does with this one.

Yep got to agree, after waiting so long & then the disappointment of the Harley’s I must admit to being curious & will definitely give the show a view when it’s done.
