Maybe watch it then think about doing a similar trip on a bike you want to ride.
More and more of that route from the bottom is now being sealed, soon you will be able to knock it over in a few weeks if you want to, but at the pace of the e-bikes you still get to smell the roses and septic tanks of towns like Tres Lagos

There’s plenty of vloggers that have done it unsupported

Just watched episode 4.... perhaps it's just me, but the production/story telling looks a lot more "quick and dirty" than the LWR and LWD shows. Not as much detail.

The scenery from the drone shots is awesome though. No drones around back in the day for the previous shows.

I'll stick it out to the end.. just 6 more episodes to go.

M&W have one of the electric bikes there.
I had a look at it and thought, hmmm.. made me realise the bike is sort of irrelevant to the story and show.
It’s an engine and two wheels.

The show is full of of places I’d like to ride and cultures I’d like to experience.
Just watched the latest episode. I guess I’m jealous of what their lives enable.
The show may not have a zen aspect per se I can relate to, but it’s still good eye candy for me.

Just watched the first 3 episodes this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery is just beautiful but did remind me of NZ South Island too. So far i think they're proving that electric is going to be a thing, but not just yet :)

I would imagine in the early days of combustion-engined vehicles the same issues would have arisen, namely a lack of fuel availability and having to carry a load of the stuff. Once the charging infrastructure is rolled out (and batteries continue to improve) it will be a different story.

    Be thankful they weren't nuclear-powered.

The first LWR now looks archaic with their non-GoPro cameras and primitive bike to bike comms. Jump forward to the easily available tech of today and so much of that production baggage & entourage would be completely uneccessary.

That'd be the work of Claudio Von Planta.
I did a trip through Peru in 2016 with (the now defunct) Compass Expeditions. The gimmick to get you to sign up for the tour was that thingy, errr Charley Boorman, would be leading the ride. (Un)fortunately Charley broke both his legs just weeks before the trip started, but Claudio still attended the trip and took some great photos and excellent footage of us all. No drone footage though :(, Peru wouldn't let him bring the drone into the country.

Claudio is the one I would've loved to meet. Awesome guy at both the tiller and the lens!

    Good, old Charley....meeeh
Met by chance after one of his Pommie Compass-charges decked a then-brandnew Waterboxer in Strahan/Tassie which turned into one of my mint trip-memories.
Not Charley... but the exchange between him and Crusty(varmint). Fuggen priceless!
That's Crusty on the ground looking at an oil-pissing GS after we pulled it out of the fences and retaining walls.....

A couple of weeks ago I went to look at Livewires at a nearby Harley dealership. Barnes Langley had about 18 of them all over the place. I was running out of fingers.

The price was very confusing. I think someone said there was an $8000 Canadian price reduction and or rebates. I have no idea what the out the door price was. The ICBC insurance would be over a $1000 a year. I am not sure but do you have to get a cell phone contract just for the bike in Canada? So another $1000 a year?

Do I have to get the Harley F150 and a trailer? Or can I use my Dodge?

maybe they had some budget left from apple.?

They were behind schedule for Mr McGregor to arrive in LA for a new movie he was due to act in.

    Did not know that.

I wondered why they just didn’t buy a pick up truck and a tarp for the bikes and a mini van to drive and sleep in.

Maybe I wasn’t paying close enough attention to see what Claudio and the sportster did.

Well just got around to watching the last episode...................:snore
    What a snore fest.
I enjoyed most of the series, fantastic cinematography (thanks Claudio).
I was able to fast forward thru all the virtue signaling charity shit & the usual visiting member of Ewan's family
but that last episode was a stinker :topes
Full of padding about building a bus & the under whelming over staged heroes return in LA. :csm

Instead of a feeling of melancholy & wanting more I was glad it was over.

    I would give LWR 10/10 & LWD 7/10

    LWU 6/10, could do better.
But nobody gives a fuck what I think aye! :photog
