I've been fascinated with the two-fifty fours that Japan produced in the '80s and '90s since I first read about them in the motorcycle magazines, but living in America I've never had a chance to swing a leg over them. While the race-replicas get the most attention, I am especially fond of the early ones that were sporty, but still had exposed engines.

I did some searching and I couldn't find a thread dedicated to these little screamers, so I am creating one here. Feel free to share stories, pictures, articles, [???]

We used to have lots in NZ becaause of our 250cc learner law. The 250's were so overpriced you could buy a nice 1000cc UJM for the price of a flogged 250. We no longer have the 250 rule, so prices have dropped, and there seem to be less of them around.

i've always been tempted by the small moto guzzi and benelli fours ,
those really tiny clockwork engines are a work of art.
they are stil relatively cheap in italy , but i dont really need more projects right now.

I was tempted to bid on this non-running Guzzi at the Harper collection auction in 2016. I didn't, but it ended up going for way more than I could have spent anyway.

In case anybody is unaware, the Guzzi fours were just badge engineered Benellis.

    And it's only doing 60mph. :D

    Does sound good though.
I'd LOVE one of those 250 Katanas......drool, slobber.
