    Thanks Dick!

I'm heading to New York City in the morning for the week -- can't wait to exchange that for Dawson City and a nice comfy tent! :clap :clap

Got two very light boxes of swag that need to be taken from Wa-Fish area. Seriously small but too big for bike. I don't want these "delicate" items broken into even tinier bits than what the manufacturer already intended. :muutt

Maybe AKMud could deliver to ThatGuy for a final drop off at Barbs?

You sure I can't get them on my GS? If so, I'll run them in (haven't driven my truck to work since April....). :ear

Rode with a guy last night who has a house in Eagle and had driven (in a cage) there recently. He said the Taylor was the best its ever been. Of course, he's like a lot of us who've seen our roads (Alaska and northern Canada) over the last 30 (or more) years and know what they used to be like. And like a lot of us has a love/hate relationship with some of the highway improvements.

Question: been some discussion about insurance cards to have while in Canada. I obtained one last year and I don't recall ever having to show it. Geico states that they are required to have while in Canada. Others say no. Any thoughts?

I've been going to Dawson on a motorcycle for the past 20 years or so and traveling up and down the Alcan and Cassiar (in a cage or on a bike) for quite a bit longer. Some years I took the time to drop by my insurance office and get a card - some years not. But I have never had to show it to anyone. On the other hand I've never been stopped by the RCMP either. :babe

Yes, you can! Just don't want them bouncing around on MY GS for a 500 mile trip north, already loaded down with blow dryers, curling irons, and half her wardrobe. :lol3

I'll drop it by tonight on way in to work. I'll put it in the back of your pickup. Might be "dark" when I come by so don't SHOOT!

Ditto! Silly little card can be emailed/snailmailed before you leave and save you a lot of hassle if the local fuzz decides to enforce! :mulie

OKAY TROOPS, THIS IS THE LATEST. I RODE TO CHICKEN FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND CAME HOME YESTERDAY. THE NEW TOW!!!!! With the redo it has become very polar. Holland bus had to chain up Friday morning to make it up the hill out of the valley to the Eagle junction. It was mud slop all the way from the border to Chicken, no more gravel and some shitty mud sections, if it is wet it is going to be some messy. On the flip side yesterday I left Chicken about 11am and the sun was out and the road had a few hours to dry out and it was almost like concrete, I was back in town in an hour and forty-five minutes including the border stop. The Yukon side is pretty much the same except a new section of chip seal and most of the gravel sections are great. Some broken frost heave spots in the chip seal sections to be aware of but no drama.
Susan had to put me to bed and had people take care of my bike so it was a very successful visit!
    Getting close to 10 sleeps!

No kidding! The TOW could be filled with volcanos and lava and he could still manage to ride across it.

I was going to only use the front, but now I guess I'll throw that second hand TKC on the rear as well.... Thanks for the update!

Drop that thing off at my house afore you leave for work and I'll get the tires mounted. KS and I are doing a bit of wrenching on his in the am. Afternoon will be spent in Los Anchorage in search of a diesel pusher. :evil

I appreciate the offer, but I think I'll wait till next Mon/Tues to throw 'em on to save what tread is left on that rear.... :hmmmmm I may end up strapping on the Tourance rear that is on it in case that TKC won't make the round trip.
