Steekar? What is this steekar you speak of?
im currently in Dawson...
i mounted a brand new Heidenau K60 for my rear (BMW G650X Challenge) and after 3000km is nearly dead, i had thought (my fault) that i would be able to get more km's out of it.
as im in the area, i am planning on going to Invik, and returning to Dawson, i expect my tires to be dead...
anyone know if there is (any dirt or street) new or used tires to be had here in Dawson (in the above sizes)? i have sent a few emails to Whitehorse and Fairbanks, and waiting for their replies
Ask for Dick at the downtown hotel...he has a tire supply.
Just wanted to say thank you to all the folks that put on the non-event. I had an absolute blast. Great job guys. Can't wait to ride with you all again soon.
is Dick online here?
i just arrived to Inuvik
But just ask at the hotel.......they will find him for you!!!! The staff all know him
I am alive and well, talk to me, what do you need?
Not sure what is going on, but I bought gas twice at the North 60 Petro/Dominion Petro Express. The first was for $29.03 and second time $ 22.36. Credit Card was charged $97.58 and $98.20 respectively. Better take a look at your's if you did. Maybe nothing more than a posting error but........
It may be a posting error. I used the same station and my charges are accurate.
Hey I'm gonna start a new thread about this because I got charged $97.58 too! :huh
Thanks for the heads up!
Edit: Just got off the ph w/cc company. They said it's common practice to for gas stations around NA and should show the correct amt of purchase in a couple days.
My wife and I just completed our first D2D ride and LOVED it! Thank you to everyone who helped put it on, I hope to be back!
X2 for me as well! If my ole' XR holds up for another year. I'm already making plans for next year.
+1 for us, the longest ride we have done on the KLRs, or on any bike, my wife rode her Yamaha FZ6 as well, we covered almost 1300 miles, had the time of our lives, esp because we had our dads with us. we will def be making this trip every year. got to meet some new people, great job for putting this thing together!
we missed the midnight ride, how can we get some stickers?
the medevac company I work for in fairbanks was the ones to pick up the injured girl and fly her to anchorage, funny how I was off work and in another country, and still couldnt get away! I heard she had a few broken ribs and arm...
Have to admit, I had a great time. Looking forward to next year, already told em at work. Might even try and bring my son. Will be shopping for a 350-650 dual sport for him.
Andrew and I had a marvelous time at D2D. We headed up the Dempster and are now chillin' in Inuvik. We had heavy rain here in Inuvik last night....no word on how far south the rain fell. There were rumors the Dempster closed for awhile due to smoke, but cars are still getting through although they report flames on both sides of the road in spots :eek1.
I had a spill in the crazy deep gravel north of Fort McPherson. The slide ripped off my left side peg and shifter. Andrew was able to cobble together a working facsimile using bits of my highway pegs and tools on hand...I highly recommend keeping a Mark I Farmboy handy on this type of adventure
Thanks again for a great party...we are headed next for the Super T rally in Whitehorse . See ya!
Here's a link to a few photos of some riders in the games. If you would like any of these sent to you, just pm me.
