I didn't know you had one of these too.
I picked one up a while back and gave it a tidy up and fitted some longer travel suspension to use it at Vinduro's but unfortunately I have only had it out once for a short test run and while the suspension changes worked well it seemed a bit down on power for what i was expecting so i think I need to open her up and check out the top end.

Just picked up a 1998. What an awesome bike. Love the flat slide carbie and the fact that I can ride a friggin 2 stroke to work!

Trying to restore my DT200 , does anyone know how to tell what year it is? I'm also looking for a list of bottom end bearings; I have the service manual but it doesn't list the cylindrical bearings

Go to Yamaha Canada's website. Then, go to the Parts Catalogue. If you look at the VIN tag it says on there. I believe it is also a part of the serial number.

Picked this up a few years ago as a bit of basket case. Didn't run quite right, missing the oil injection....

Got it cleaned up, new plastic from Portugal, new pump from Australia, new rims and other goodies................ rode it for a bit then sold it late fall of 2019. Fun while it lasted but just too hard to get parts. I have KDX220 that I might put a dual sport kit on to replace this...... as a side note, I saw the above 96 DT200 just last week at Old Motorcycle Shop, swear it was the same one. Not sure if it was getting work on or the owner worked there.......... but neat coincidence for a reasonably rare bike.
