Heading out to Colorado in the middle of the month and was looking to rent an ATV for me and my girlfriend to do some two up riding on anyone have any suggestions on doing this I notice a lot of the stuff I was looking at would require rental and then transport and I'm kind of on a budget so I'm really looking for a place I can rent and ride at preferably somewhere scenic. If any inmate has an atv they'd loan out for a day for a fee that would be cool too just let me know, we're going to be staying around rocky mountain national park but pretty much open to riding wherever.
On the east side there isn't too much. Mostly national park and private land. And no off roading in either. On the west side there are several rental outfits. Make sure you stay on the established trails. Can't say that enough. These are over used fragile areas. Make new scares and they don't heal and trails/areas to recreate get closed.
https://backbonecycles.com/ They have most of the ATVs/UTVs parked on the trail only the office is in town in Estes Park. At the Bunce trailhead they always have dozens of UTVs and ATVs parked there, they say they will deliver to MSV as well. http://www.onthetrailrentals.com/ These guys are also right on the trail over in the Grand Lake area. Both places are about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport if you're flying in. Grand Lake area trails as well as Bunce or MSV are scenic and good places for 2 up ATV riding. You'll do more driving with the Estes Park option as both MSV and Bunce are a good 45mins+ outside of town. I think you're pretty much confined to either Estes or Grand Lake/Grandby areas for non-guided ATV rentals.
