Thank you for taking us along on this adventure!! Awesome update!!
Just found this. AMAZING report! Thanks!!!
Favorite report! Love the language! Keep the updates them coming!
You guys are full-on amazing!!! How is that the rangers always show up after you have gotten through the hard part??? How do they get across those???
I'm in this till the end. In a much more comfortable surrounding, but not nearly the adventure...
First time it was the entrance to the reserve. Second time it was pure luck and good karma, cause usually they go that place one time in a week. So broken KTM should wait for a week as well.
because both fords are in the reserve.
It is the only road in it,
it connects 2 cordons of the reserve.
They work at this road.
If to pass 20 km further you won't wait for rangers.
At an entrance to the reserve we asked their frequency of radio.
When KTM broke we contacted them.
Call to reserve rangers easily, you need to blow up a small charge c4 or shoot a little heavy machine gun.
If you have luggage absolutely no weapons can just catch fish.
Because fishing is banned, you will become a violator. Job Rangers - to catch the offender. And they will appear and show you the charges.
Sorry for my English translated.
River Barguzin second crossing
Some of the best adventure I've ever seen.
I rode (bicycle) the 110 in the end of June/early July last year. Reading through this brings back so many great memories, thanks for the great write up and videos.
I'm very impressed. I remember thinking at many obstacles how much harder they would be with the extra 120kg+ difference between a motorcycle and a loaded bicycle. Looking forward to the next section.
i salute your incredible teamwork!.....
For the river crossings I suggest you ask Tee Bee to come along and bring his
Yes it is a good truck out!
Every 2 weeks for winter road runs 110 minicar.
Everything else is unfortunately stuck, drowning or breaks :)
A short video about how truck drivers working in Siberia.
Loving your updates to the report. Thanks so much for sharing and the videos really show the harshness of the land. Love it.
Keep it coming. We are living through you.
Easily one of the best ride reports ever.
Utmost respect. A truly gnarly Adventure.:eek1
Foggy morning at Barguzin river
Goal number one is make a diagnostics of KTM690 noises.
Since we're right in the very deep asshole between buttocks of Special Stage
Sramnaya(pudendal) River and SS Two Barguzin Crossings.
An autopsy showed that rocker bearing is finished. Finished finally and irrevocably.
Having scattered a handful of metal shavings and shims inside the engine.
How was it driving in this condition through Barguzine I do not understand. It swam out under its own power!
Basically, having this rocker in hands, repair would take about forty minutes, maybe even less.
Engineering solutions of the layout of the motor are great.
Everything is accessible and easy to remove, even in the field. But we have no spare rocker : ((
To maintain our morale Space Marine brewed us crafty tea with herbs.
Well he was a child when his mother taught him to survive in Earth orbit without a spacesuit,
protoplasmic blaster, money and tools, using only grandfathers sword and amphibious ingenuity.
He knows by heart all medical strengthen grasses. Basis of the potion were needles and taiga baobab fruits.
A_Big is making magic over the bowler.
We received a strange complication after tea. I had grilled radio station.
Abbott thoughtfully pulled out an orange wire out of KTM and began to prepare his sony ericsson, "smoked"
Grom went into the image of the solar cell and rotated with the system of three suns (red dwarfs) ,
accurately tracking projection with maximum energy flow;
absorbing and accumulating photons and electrons.
Others got high different way. They paced the clearing in all directions, looking carefully at irregularities of space rocks.
- Whether is not present in a grass new KTM rocker?
- Periodically running up to the fire and turning their languishing on low heat sneakers, boots, pants and gloves.
As I already said, we were in the recess that was very close to the base of the "black hole".
For communication with Mission Control we had to build a tower of communication, but it has not helped.
Capacity of our transmitters catastrophically did not suffice.
And even when we threw a wire on "charged" Grom,
radio signal failed to break through the anomalous magnetic field of Barguzin.
The smell of tea attracted Rangers.
Orange was released from bags and performed in hands to a tow truck,
like a wounded comrade carefully moved into the bay.
690 looked at us and said goodbye in the doorway, looking out with his 990s eye.
Rangers also were treated to some tea. The tea appeared racy!
It released rescuers only in Irkutsk :))))))))) (but we do not know about this yet)
Coming short of zombies toxicosis I managed to uncork the flask with deactivator
(biennium infusion of special XR vodka)
and now I'm back to normal, but the situation was critical.
Overcoming difficulties I alternately saved all other members of space odyssey.
True deactivator was finished completely.
110 winter road
I have ridden a push bike on the james river cobblestone road but ,man those russian cobble roads ,looks like they could have at the least leveled it out before throwing down those stones.
Or maybe those are the new russian topes to slow you supersonic travelers down to mach 3.
Thanks for the great report
