In a few weeks we're going to see how much of it we can cover on V-Stroms. Haven't ridden any of it since probably 1978.
Totally doable but will be very slow going in the whoops which there is a ton of. Let me know if you need any tips for where to access it, I can send you the locations in google maps. I know it all very well since my family owns a few houses on slateford Rd which runs under the Delaware River Viaduct on the PA side and I also have friends that live along the cutoff in Columbia. since most of it is either a cut or a fill there are only a few spots you will be able to access it on a big bike.
Old U.S. 78/Bankhead Hwy. between Birmingham and Memphis. Eventually replaced by a 4 lane, and now an interstate. Patterson Gap Rd., GA...seemed more like a goat path than a road. I renamed it "Ray Charles Pkwy." in honor of another native Georgia son...and because with the rain and fogging faceshield/glasses, I couldn't see shit.
Hmmmmm. Pix like these make me wonder if I should buy a machine that I can use to venture (intentionally) off the pavement sometime. Some other photos here and elsewhere in the forum squelch the thought pretty quickly. Still ... "Kathi, I've been thinking ..." Bill
Yeah I fell down going up it. Sorry about the picture. Something happens to pictures sent from IPhones to my Android.
So where is the access in Hopaci So where is the access in Hopacong? Anywhere to park and unload? Thanks
Easy to access from CR602 in Stanhope since that's once of only 2 places it crosses at grade. Other place is Wolfs Corner by Greendel Station. There are hundreds of access points if you ride along it and keep an eye out. If you use Google terrain mode you can see the cutoff very easily. Only place I can think that might be safe to park is under the Delaware river viaduct on slateford RD in PA and ride it east.
