About a week till departure. Yeah, we're all busy final prepping the bikes, loading our GPS receivers and thinking about what to pack. Six old guys (sorry not PC - mature guys) from Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee on the Western Continental Divide. Five of us are clustered around 70 with one young whippersnapper at 61. We'll ride about 2550 miles including 700 or so on pavement returning to the starting point. Two of our group... (Pyg Rydr and me) ...did the Canada to Rawlins, WY section of the CDR a couple of years ago. (Pictures here) We'll pick up the CDR at Rawlins where we left off and point 'em south mostly sticking to the blue track. We are: Bill - EXC350 Galen (Pyg Rydr) - WR250 Graham - KTM450 Jim (me) - DR650 Lanny - DR650 Robert - DRZ400 We are all are seasoned (some might say TOO seasoned) riders on well prepared bikes. We will trailer out and pick up the CDR at Rawlins. At the Mexican border in Antelope Wells, NM we'll turn back north on secondary paved roads to our tow vehicles. Nine days on the bikes. No camping - we're staying in motels, B&Bs and Dude Ranches. Pics and ride report to come in this thread. Pull up a chair and join us!
