I hope that 25 years qualifies as "Old". Took the CB1000, aka "The Big One", out for a ride around the lake yesterday to enjoy the warm fall weather we have been getting. It may not be the fastest, but it is definitely one of the smoothest.
The bike in the foreground with the enclosed chain is a Model W Sport, horizontally opposed twin. They were produced 1919-1923.
1976 Honda Goldwing and I on a camping trip in 1995. I traded a pistol for the bike, changed the oil and plugs, threw camping gear on it and took it on a 4000 mile camping trip...never skipped a beat...in the background is my 1985 K100RS a friend of mine was riding...apparently I had stopped for a cigarette...also pre-armor days...
I like the green pannier on there I had a trail 90 I rode the piss out of...replaced the clutch...and rode the piss out of it some more...
a few years ago, I stumbled across this clean little 1976 Honda 360 in a local ad just after it had been placed. The bike had been sitting for a couple of years, I negotiated and ended up paying the CCs for it ($360) and rode it home, about fifteen miles away...it was a terrible ride as I stuttered and hopped home (the chain was rusty and stiff). I fixed the charging system and rode it for a couple of years and sold it to a kid wanting to "cafe" it.
I had a CB450 the same color that I almost killed my ass on while I was running from the local constabulary along a twisty mountain road in my younger, wilder days. The low pipes and footpegs were not conducive for the lean angle needed to make the curves that I was hitting too fast, as the bike skipped across the lanes in the curves, sparks spraying out from the pegs as the rear tire lost traction, grabbed, lost traction, grabbed...I was an idiot...
