I have been given a chance at n+1. Conditions... 1 get rid of the two Estima Van's, (daughters camper + spare parts) done. 2 get rid of the Megane, still to do, 3 finish the Mezinnine floor build... still in progress. Hopefully I'll get there
i take it you've had no luck previously trying the forgiveness side of the permission vs forgiveness angle?
MrsKiwi doesn't believe in the quiet treatment. She does, however, believe in retail therapy. So if I indulge in n+1 I have to budget twice the cost!
I came home with a new boat once (only once, never again ) and the next day my wife ordered a new kitchen. Ouch
Sadly the list seems to always grow doesn't it. We are in the midst of renovations at the moment. I was meant to semi retire next year, that's not going to happen...
I am semi retired, not by choice and live in a shed. Nothing to renovate and plenty of space for another bike
Yep. I'm mid 40's and in my prime as far as work goes and I can't capitalise this year. 1st world issues, I know. If I could convince the better half we dont need a house I could retire a lot sooner than 65. I'm not banking on any Super by the time I get there and I still like buying bikes before the last one is wore out so it'll be a good few years before I can shake off the golden handcuffs of work... In the meantime, they're still making petrol and tyres.
Rode my Vstrom all the way to Takapuna and back to have coffee with no1 daughter. Glorious day. I had to unzip my jacket a bit going down the motorway cos i was too hot!! Parked my bike in a m/c only slot right outside her office. Sat chatting on bench overlooking Takapuna Beach for half an hour. Rode home. I didn't even pay for my coffee. Life could be worse
After sounding like a broken record banging on about how good my DRZ400 is I decided I had better ride it. Chance came this avo with a few hours to spare between mowing lawns and dinner with the kids. Took a while to get started. battery was about to die when I remembered the "Prime" position on the fuel tap... off it went. 2 hours flew by on the nearest gravel roads to my place. Pretty much no one around. Could have done with a thermal on but wasnt too bad at all. Happy camper!
And since I'm putting dates in calendars... @KiwiPewe ... when is the recommended time to do the Molesworth - Hanmer - Rainbow Roads trip in the New Year? Would suit me to do it nearer Christmas as my kids should be on leave and hence no babysiting/grandadding st that time. Any suggestions?
Time to give the dizzer some love before it heads away down south. Checking out the steering head and wheel bearings. All good. On the lift Found one of the caliper bolts was loose though. If you look at the left hand caliper bolt you can see its not where it should be. I could turn it with my fingers Underside of steering head. No tell tale leakage.
