    You walked into the party

Like you were walking onto a yacht

Your hat strategically dipped below one eye

    Your scarf it was apricot

You had one eye in the mirror

    As you watched yourself gavotte

    And all the girls dreamed

    that they'd be your partner

    They'd be your partner,

    and...You're so vain,

you probably think this post is about you

    You're so vain,

I bet you think this post is about you

    Don't you, don't you?

    My Gawd Man,

This is the fastest rebuild, from frame up, that I've ever seen. Top notch stuff, excellent pictures and a good read.

And what a find.:eek1 A 640 ADV is great enough:thumb but a two time factory rallye bike. :eek1 Sweet. :freaky You've got to hold on to this one, esp. after all the work you've put in. :thumb Good luck with the rest of the rebuild, I'm loving ever minute of this read. :thumb

Thanks, Yeah it's progressing well so far, i've been very fortunate and had a fair few people helping with advice and bits. I've just picked up 5 gears for the 'box so i'm hoping to have the bike up and running after Christmas. I can't wait!:rofl

    Howdy All,
I've had a big weekend in the shed, installed the new link in the rear suspension, reassembled the wheels with new bearings and new cush drive rubbers and a new rear sprocket, put all the new bearings in the brake pedal and chain rollers, and in between times repaired and painted up the front fairing.
I didn't have a tin of Orange so i mixed up a brew using Bright Gold (69 Camaro colour) and a dash of red, it looks pretty close to me. It got a little outa hand though as i added some Lilac and some Red pearls to the clear coats (blame it on the fumes), doesn't look too bad but most of it will be covered by the sponsor and Dakar stickers anyway:lol3 .

Before anyone else mentions it, yes it's not original colouring, the tank and fairing should be blue. Eventually i'll collect all the bits to return it to original including the WP Extreme forks etc but right i wanta ride .......and see if the engine holds together:rofl :rofl

Now, on to the engine, hopefully the gears will be here week after next, in time for my Xmas break so i can spend some time gettinit all together.

G'day Boe, You're the guy that builds up the renazco seats? Reckon you could make a copy of the Rallyes seat cover? The suede cover is pretty much stuffed and needs replacing one of these days.
    Thanks

I wonder how hard it would be to make a splash mold off one of your Rallye masks? Once you get the bike sorted, of course. I reckon there are one or two Aussies that know how to work with epoxy. :D I'd wager there are also some septics who would buy such a part. I keep thinking about doing the same with my plastic one, but I haven't got past the thinking part. Ta for sharing your historic moto.

I've made a couple but it's difficult to clone the orange part of the seat since it's transparent plastic over vinyl that's somehow "heat compressed" together.
They usually seperate after good use, usually I just re-do the orange part in just naugahyde but the best bet is all suede.

Fun project you have there, looking forward to the finally :thumb

Thanks for the info Bo, i'll contact you later on when the seats really stuffed and see what can be done.

As for replacement front masks Rapiti, RJF's right, Race Motorcycles sell 'em for around $200, i can get you their contact details if you need 'em.
