Hi Chantal, just revisiting your blogg..We have made it to Nepal. Waiting for our China Visa. Thought I'd let you know we made it into North Sikkim, as high as LaChung and about 30 to 40 kms further into the mountains until a massive land slip stopped us and the many other hordes of Indian tourists (whom go there to play in the snow). We managed to get to Mangan and Toong (18 km past) before being stopped at the check point where we were told we needed permit. Directed back to Mangan and the Local Regional Government Direction Department to obtain permit. Took quite some time and stopping to ask the locals where it was. But eventually we found it. Permission was required from the Government Head - copies of Passports - Sikkim Inline Permit, and we were issued/approved with a 5 day permit. NO CHARGE - no escort - no tour operator. So it can be done - but the stats and planets need to be aligned

I'd like to join to the long list of people congratulating. Truly an inspirational deed. I'm happy I've came across it and enjoyed it to the utmost.
Good luck with the books, and enjoy the fame what comes with it!

(is there a possibility buying it online? Or do I have to drive there to pick it up? :D From Poland)
