?

WHICH ROUTE WOULD YOU LIKE?

  1. GTA to ELLICOTTVILLE NEW YORK - 2 day trip - (250km/day)

  2. Start in Kelso (near Milton), ride around wine country, lunch at a winery (1 day trip)

  3. Ol' Faithful: Belfountain via Hockley to Creemore, lunch at Old Mill (1 Day trip)

  4. Screw this.... here's my idea.... (post it in the thread!)

    TO KEEP THINGS SIMPLE....

Let's meet in Belfountain, Ont. on April 18th at 10:00am for a kick-off.

--you pick the route, or follow someone--

2:00pm in Creemore for a late lunch.

As per the survey poll, a two day ride to Ellicotville N.Y. or Northern Pennsylvania will follow soon enough...

Ok yes, I have cabin fever, I have NEVER had it this bad before. Probably has something to do with where I am living.. No sled, no 4wheeler, nothing. IF you where a real friend you would get your sled, let me tie a rope to it, and drag me around at cazy speeds while I am on my snowboard. But nooooooooo all your doing is making fun of me instead of helping with my pain and suffering.....

    Longer rides sounds good but....
A: My wife's a terrorist and needs a visa to get in to the US. GO DUTCH!!:thumb
B: May be to long a ride for the smaller cc bikes.
C: Weather.. with a day ride we can make Sat. or Sun. depending on the day.
    D: drcool only drinks beer...

:dog...well, that's two people who can't make it into the US.

Maybe we'll save the two day trip for a later date.

The wine route could be a hit, easy for everyone to get to, interesting terrain and a sublime lunch at a cozy winery. The weemin's will love too!!! :D

Suffice to say, the Belfountain-Creemore route is always fantastic but it's getting a little familiar. :beer

Let's here it guys (and gals)....

There is lots of great riding east of the city. Bancroft would be an easy lunch destination. But before getting into route planning, is this supposed to be a dual-sport ride or a street ride?

That's what I am thinking too... EAST.

Rides always seem to be focused North or Westward of the big smoke.. You guys have no idea just how much riding there is east. Lakeshore rd starting from Bomanville, The whole area North Of the Ganny, The Kawartha Lakes area, Through Picton, and Brighton in Prince Edward County... Just saying this would be a great ride cause there is a ton of roads that are gravel, paved, varing terrains and no traffic.

I call Bullshit......I'll drink anything including a case of Red wine(coolwife says no to Whiskey if you ask her, small matter of my incarsuration).

But I partially agree with the small cc issue(may have dealt with it by then but I'm not alone).

Smaller CC bikes won't have much trouble - as long as we're not on a bombing mission. :augie

I'm also in favor of heading E-N-E, but the father North you go (that early in the year) there's still plenty of snow. Hence all the proposed routes are more Southerly.

Bancroft sounds great, tones of terrain to ride. However, it's ~241km's away from the GTA (one way). For some, that will be a stretch.

Let's post some routes heading East. See if we can agree on something interesting...

By all means.... but Driftopia and Doughyland is a 2 day ride, if it's to be really appreciated. Begrudgingly, I sense a two-day spring ride is out of the question at this point in time.

Some people had minor crashes last year because of ice... headin further East/North wouldn't help our case.

    ...kept it realistic ya'll...

I would cast my vote for a Milton to wine country route.

We could likely meet at Rob's Farm in Campbellville(unlimited parking) or my driveway in Burlington( could squeeze 20 with exta parking in neighbours drives for another 20). Lots of backroad between there and the Penninsula. I can't comment to much on topography but the Grand River sure isn't straight and it runs all the way to Dunnville. The Ridge Road on the way back was a nice ride.

That is also my Birthday weekend so let's make it a good one.
