Hey boys. Living in Toronto, running a tricked out XR650L and looking for some riding buddies. Not afraid of any pansy water holes. Have been doing the rally connex runs. Plan on doing the p2d in 2010. Nice to meet y'all
Welcome to the asylum. A bunch of the FFs are meeting here before the motorcycle show, but it might be a pansy watering hole. Most of the on-line bench racing is here.
yeah unfortunately I'm busy friday and saturday. I will be going sunday instead. I may run up to the international centre for the jan show. Your in parkdale eh what do you ride I may have seen you around.
I'm on a BMW X-Challenge, but it doesn't see much of the city. If you did see me, and the bike was clean, I was on my way out of town. If we were both filthy, I was just returning from parts north or east. Are you in the 'hood too?
I'm in the junction my bike spends some time in town but alot out too... Also spend most my time hanging around Cyclewerx
I'm bored today.... so I thought of a cool ride we could all do this coming spring/early summer. Pack a tent and a rod - ride up north - eat what you caught on an open fire. Anyone know of a good fishing hole somewhere up North?! - good enough to pitch a few tents?! Would be cool if we could make this a 2-up specific ride.... bring yer wife, bebecakes, or kid!
Uber, this is brilliant! Depending on how far north you're thinking, this may be too close, but 3-4h from Toronto brings you to some pretty fine 2 lane broken roads with lakes scattered throughout. If you google maps "Calabogie, Greater Madawaska, Renfrew County, Ontario" is a pretty good point to start from for 2-up short touring twisties with off camber turns, gravel, sand, (single-track, sand/mud/rocks is out there too but I haven't tried it yet), etc... 511 takes you up from 401, once you're up there, 508 going east of Calabogie is decent and the roads tend to flow nice into natural loops, and there are 3 small lakes, perfect twisty broken tarmac riding in spring. The catch is the roads in the area get busy (mid-summer) with 'posers who can't afford track-time' and it can get messy, so springtime and early summer is perfect for this destination. If there's interest, I'll find out about the fishing and post an update. Regards, John
Sure! I know lots! What kinda fish do you want? We're mostly into Walleye around here for eating, Muskies for fun.
:huh This is an idea from Ubersexual>?>? You serious? You might get dirty though... Anytime... And this would be perfect to start from my cottage...
Is the A/M Ontario rally tentative or a reality? I'm very interested but have never ridden in a rally like this before, so if it's for real I need to start pestering you guys right now about what changes need to be made to my KTM to get ready! If this one isn't going to get off the ground, can anyone recommend a rally for a veteran rider but Rally newbie? Preferably something where I'll only be severely injured rather than killed?
