Route info (see REVISED GPX file - attached below):

    Slight route alterations:
Without making this long winded, I'm cutting out the off-road portion on Saturday (don't worry, I'll make up for it on Sunday!!! - see below :evil). In addition, the aforementioned 35km detour route for those not wanting to try the off-road portion has also be revised. As such, we're not going to split up at any point during the ride on Saturday. That being said, we're going to hit some gravel road portions at ~11am, very fun stuff and very much 2up friendly! (a slightly revised GPX file has been posted below).

    PRE-RIDE PICTURES HERE

    OFF-ROAD ROUTE: SUNDAY!
Now, for those of you who are devastated at the loss of your beloved off-road portion of the trip; I'm dedicating Sunday's ride to you! We'll take the 47km off-road route leading from the lodge to where the original off-road section started. At which point, we're in for a newly revised ~60km off-road section. I rode the whole thing on touring tires and had no problems; however, it's not possible to complete this route 2up. Beginning from the lodge at ~10am, I figure it will take us 3-4hrs to ride the off-road sections (including taking time to stop and snap pics), at which point we'll finish up for lunch in Minden at the Rockcliffe Tavern. As for fuel, we will have a chance to tank up before we hit the Old Wagon Road (Lake of Bays gas stop), which will be ~70km's from the lodge. Henceforth, be sure to fill up at the last gas stop on Saturday during the return trip (hwy141 & Dr-4, 55km's before the lodge). Please ensure you have enough range on a tank of gas to cover at least 125km's.

In addition to our ride on Saturday, I want to offer everyone the chance to ride Hwy 60 through Algonquin park - since it's not on our route.

God willing, we'll leave at 6:30am and return at ~8am. You'll be treated to a breathtaking "sunrise" ride through the fog and dew. Essentially, we'll ride East through the park, turn around the the East Gates and ride back (120km's round trip).

It's not an overly amazing road to ride in itself, but early in the morning it should prove to be a nice ride.

If you're planning on coming, please try not to wake everyone who wants to sleep in + ensure that you have a full tank of fuel on Friday evening (as there a no fuel stops in the park).
    __________________________________________________ ___________
    Over and above that:

Have breakfast at your own leisure in the main lodge (~7:30am ~9:30am)
B.Y.O.Breakfast!!!!!! Coffee is provided courtesy of the Wolf Den.

Thereafter, we'll have a riders meeting at ~9:30am + Dual Sport Plus will hold the draw for the heated vest + other goodies!!!!!!!

I hope to be on the road by 10am at the very latest.... you're welcome to come along :evil

We'll stop for fuel once we're near Lake of Bay's (15km's from the lodge) and again in Norland (~112km's down the road). The next fuel stop will be during our lunch break in Port Carling (~117km's away). Thereafter we'll stop for fuel near hwy 35 (~100km's after lunch stop), before we return to the lodge.

Saturday night: B.Y.O.BBQ / dinner - a fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal. If groups of people want to pool their efforts, I'm sure a great dinner can be had. (i.e. a group of four splits breakfast and dinner).

Plan accordingly: Food + gear (based on the weather). Bedding and cooking gear is provided - that should help lighten your load.

    GPS:
I have to figure that a few of you will not have GPS, in which case, please buddy up with someone that does. We will be traveling mostly as a group, but it's probable that at some point our group will stretch out and you may loose the people up front.

More to the point, if there are groups that want to travel together in smaller groups, by all means please do so - and noob's... don't be shy... especially if you don't have GPS, cozy-up!!!!

    -UPDATE-

    TOTALLY ANAL GAS INFO:
Regarding fuel, I expect most everyone will show up Friday night with full (nearly full) tanks. However, those that choose to ride through the park on the early bird ride (6:30am) will need gas sooner than most. So I've arranged for us to be able to purchase fuel at a powersports shop on the corner of hwy35 and 60. It's along the main route, about 10min after we leave the lodge at 10am on Saturday morning.

Regarding the return trip back to the lodge on Saturday, I highly recommend everyone fill's up at the Shell Gas stop near hwy141 and DR-4 (dont' worry, if you don't know where that is... I'm stopping there anyway).

    Distance between fuel stops (Saturday):
Lodge to emergency** Saturday morning gas stop (hwy 35 & 60) - 10km's
    Hwy 35 & 60 to Lake of Bays Gas stop - 33km's
Lake of Bays Gas stop to Norland - 99km's
Norland Gas stop to Lunch stop - 129km's
    Lunch Stop to Hwy141 & Dr-4 - 66km's (mandatory fill-up!)
    Hwy141 & Dr-4 to Lodge = 55km's

    Distance between fuel stops (Sunday):
Assuming you filled-up on Saturday at the last stop... you will have accumulated 55km's getting back to the lodge.
Lodge to Lake of Bays Gas stop (via OFF-ROAD1) -70km's (=125km's since your last re-fuel)
Lake of Bays Gas stop to Minden (via OFF-ROAD2 + some awesome on-road stuff) - 75km's

**regarding the emergency supply of fuel at the powersports shop on the corner of hwy60 and 35, their hours are:
    Saturday 9am - 6pm
    Sunday 11am - 3pm

As a formality; please read the disclaimer below:

Carlo, this is going to be a "two-up" friendly ride!

....depending on how many people show up, we can also split the group into two: scenic pace and brisk pace (AKA: bombing mission :deal).

    P.S. ... "COLORS" just looks better!!! :D

Two up friendly bombing mission. Notice he didn't use the two in the same sentence. Isn't that a little like "the cheques in the mail" and "I won't cumm in your mouth":rofl

Either way I wish I could be there but after missing jrcool's first tackle football game I feel like a bit of an :asshat

And all you FF's better be nice to Les. He's a hell of a nice guy and could use our help moving some of his fine merchandise.

Since I can't make it to the ride and that bumbs me out. If you purchase tires from Les and want some place close to install you are welcome to tools, air, lube and the almighty beer supply.

By the looks of it I can't use the vest on my DRZ anyway due to lack of power so FYYFF's.
