'course those guys are going superhuman speeds, not like us meer mortals
Ian, where did your dog stay when we were there?
Considering that she was the size and colouring of a moose - I'm guessing out of sight of the Balkans with guns!
I wonder if they got one this week.
I dunno why it's sideways... It's not in my Photobucket acct... Yer dog is cool. Big mastiff types arent normally so laid back with all the people and noises...
UHM Ian? what are you saying? that on cold lonely nights you and your dog grab a copy of Ole Yeller and spoon on the couch in front of the fire place? :huh
Dude, that's just sick.. Mans best friend is a plutonic thing...
So does my stupid little dog thats when I drop a fart in his face... But it's a dog he just sniffs closer wondering where the "good" smell is coming from...
I dunno about that.. mine is quite laid back despite noise.
until he decides he wants to play!
Do this, read this http://www.fjrowners.ws/pace.html This is how we should be riding on the street. It makes for a great run, it's safe and puts an emphasis on absolute bike control.
Thanks for the link Darren, i have just read and thouroughly enjoyed it !!. I recognized a few things in my riding which will improve just for having read this!.Yer never tooooo old!!
Yepp Rob, that's a good read.
In the wake of this year's Fall Colours Ride, anyone have some suggestions for next year:
2. Route (i.e. distance, terrain)
If we're looking at 50+ people next year, I think holding it two weeks earlier and going the campong route would be best - however, traffic might be a problem (as some have already suggested)
P.S. At the very least, I know to avoid the cranberry festival at all costs!!!
And none of this...
Perhaps if RobbieO and the other wheelie junkies just had stickers or patches made up:
PROFESSIONAL RIDER ON A CLOSED COURSE
then any legal or liability issues wouldn't apply.
Actually, that would make a pretty cool sticker...
Here's a sticker for ya. And look, it has all those pretty fall colours in it too...
Uber...you're like a planning junkie! Shit, its 11 months away still! I dont even know what Im doing this weekend yet. Lots of time to sort things out. For what its worth at this stage here's my 2 cents...
We really only have 2 options....back to the north of Toronto, or we head east...lots of great stuff out that way. As for terrain, we can avoid the traffic if we stick to the gravel a bit more...but then we will have one hell of a dust issue or a mud issue if it rains. We could always split the group into 2 routes...a dirtier route with some gravel and easy trails, and a stricktly paved route. They can intersect each other at points with a common lunch stop. If people want to change their route, they can switch groups at the lunch. With slightly smaller groups its easier to stick together, as we saw that was an issue. The weekend before Thanksgiving may be the way to go and I'm sure we can find some sort of lodge/motel near a campground as not everyone will be keen on camping. Food and attendance will sort themselves out in about 10 months
Or we could go South.
Base ourselves in Ellicotteville, New York and ride into Pennsylvania......
You're in direct violation of code, Mr. O.
Pennsylvania has some great roads, so does the area around Lake Placid, Like Star Lake and Hwy 3, they are motorcycle friendly as that is where Americade is held.
The only change I would suggest,
DualSport Plus should offer up some pants, just incase I win again
Hold it in June?
It is nice when the Vinyards and orchards are in Bloom! in May
Just a girly point of view! and I like some wine with my cheese
Ontario riders heading to the US to find coloured maple leaves is stupid. But I guess it's a fall colors and not a fall colours ride.
