I dont know about the weather for next weekend still looking pretty cold! BRRRR. The following weekend is shaping up very nicely though if you can believe the 14 day chart (which I do religiously).

If I make it out I will be lurking around Belfountain looking for this cafe around 11:00! I'm on a red F650 GS and am usually stopped at the side of the road taking pictures.

Hopefully I can start the bike up this weekend (wow it's a little late to prep the bike for winter... I wish I had done that :evil)

New guy in the region (me) plans to show up..........assuming the new Uly works out this week........Haven't ridden since I brought the wounded Duc up from Florida last month and a ~300 mile round trip would be a good start.

My bike is packed and ready to go. No GPS yet so once a route is set in stone I guess it's Google Maps to printer for me. I haven't figured out time from Burlington to Belfountain but I think I will avoid the trek to the CNE. I'll stay clear of T.O. if at all possible.

I have my doubts whether offroad will even be possible with all of the white stuff out there. I was in Campbellville mid last week and there is 18" of snow on the ground at a friends farm. We actually debated touring the pastures on snowmobiles. 2" of fresh snow fell while we enjoyed a bottle of wine. I would expect the same or worse the further north we go.

I've got a pocket full of hotpacks and an extra warm liner for my coat ready to go. Still can't decide whether to change out my tires for something knarlier. I hate to smoke a fresh set of knobs riding on the road all day but don't have any idea what these Siracs will do in the slop.

Come on Mothernature, give us a half a break and at least let the sun shine.

    Lornce,
If you are going I wouldn't mind tagging along and sharing a route map. Same goes for anyone in the Burlington area. I would think a 9am start from here puts us in Belfountain at about 11.

    Keep the info coming.

    Dave,

Looking like I'll be working next Saturday but that shouldn't stop you finding a nice route to Belfountain. Stay close to the Escarpment and you can't go wrong. Some of the nicest riding in Southern Ontario between here and there and with your bike I'd be blasting the dirt roads. Spring time dirt roads are a hoot!

    cheers,
    Lornce

That's a damn shame Lornce, might as well get the Saturdays out of the way before the good weather gets here.

The oil has been changed, new tires are on, and brand new sprockets and a chain slapped on for good measure. Lets rock out on the 5th! The weather forecast has changed yet again and it looks like we'll hit a balmy 5c. Warmer would be nice but not bad for the first week of April.

My very first post, I've been a lurker for a few months. I saw this thread and figured it's time for me to jump in. I would love to go on this ride if it's going to happen.

I bought an 08 KLR in the States in the late fall and haven't got to ride it too much so would love to try it out with you guys. If there is some offroad sections I'm in for that too (not sure how the KLR will be in the dirt, I did some light trails in the fall and it felt like a bloated Goldwing on slicks).

drcool--- any chance I could meet up with you in Burlington, I'm coming
from St. Catharines and don't want to go into TO. As I said this
is my first post can you PM or email me or something. This whole
thing is new to me and I wouldn't mind speaking to someone
before I get mixed up with some mysterious Dualsport cult with
    strange rituals or initiation ceremonies.[IMG]

    Cazador,
    pm sent.

No initiation for me or from me. I'm to old for that shit. I'm going to draw out a map old school. We'll get to Belfountain or get good and stuck.
