Ahhh Robbie... You never have any fun up there do you?
I think I'll avoid any water crossings for a while yet. The last creek I saw had chunks of ice flowing. I'm not a fan of anything real cold accept for beer.
Now to plan a nice dirty route from Campbellville to Belfountain. I'm going blind with Google but it should be worth it.
Anyone else coming in from the south or west shoot me a pm if you want to connect along the way and i'll adjust the route or timing to suit.
Uploaded gps, bike is all ready to go and I am stoked for this ride. Will take the street bike since it looks like we can stick to the asphalt and it is better in the cold temps.
Planning to join the party at the Sunset Corners pick up. Anyone else coming from Aurora or Richmond Hill area and wanna ride together to the pick up spot?
I'm just north of you(Pefferlaw) and Rumrunner is just south of you. Maybe a country caravan is in order?
I am in Newmarket I am trying to make it too.
Not sure if the street bike is the perferd ride. ( Depends on the temp I guess)
Hey Willie, and anyone else in the area:
Let's meet on the way to Sunset Corners - how about at the Tim's in Aurora (Yonge and Golf Links) at 8:45? Michael expects to get the crew to Sunset Corners by 10 am, so if we leave Aurora by 9 we should be good.
Let us know if that works and I will meet you there.
We'll probably be the only bikers there, but just in case, I'm on a blue BMW 1100RT. If things dry up this week and it looks like we can do some off road riding I will be on a yellow DRZ. However, based on the current forecast, I'll probably opt for the heated grips and windshield and settle for the asphalt only ride on Saturday.
Looking forward to Saturday! Thanks Michael for organizing this.
.......don't thank me yet! I've previously only ridden 50% of the route - so I don't exactly know what to expect!!!! - it'll be an adventure to say the least
Well at least the weather guess has gone back to a sunny side up day.
I have riden none of the route from Campbellville to Belfountain but what the hell it looks like 1 1/2 hours on paper. I think I even found some offroad on the way. We leave Burlington at 9 with a quick stop in Campbellville at 9:30.
I am so looking forward to a nice warm Saturday morning ride in the country. My Eight year old son keeps looking at the map and trying to convince me to take him along for the ride but I think that may crap our poser style if we find some good sloppy country roads.
Uber, what is the count so far?
I hear it's supposed to be -5c and snowy on Sat.
Uber, about this route you picked
OK, so we keep it to less snow pack
DW.... that's a sick April fool's joke!?!?!?! :ddog.........( you got me!!)
So the outlook looks okay, SAT: sunny and 6 degrees... fine by me. However, I think the off-road options are going to be sketchy.... so we might have to omit those - as it's been brought to my attention that I can be held legally responsible for everyone's saftey (as I've organized this event and planned the route!). So, it goes without saying.... ride within your limits.
Dammit... I sound like a tightwad now......
.....there, that's more like it!!!!
.....I think we'll have 3-4 people in total. The other 25 people will come up with excuses (i.e. reno's + a sale at Restoration Hardware!)
It sucks to be responsible, doesn't it?
Don't worry about me I fall off on my own free will.
I have a dirt road test planned before we hit Campbellville and will alter my route based on that. I almost feel like taking a blast later this week to warm up the sliding skills. It's been a while since we were layin tracks on the ice but it's not that much different sliding on dirt.
I will have no excuses, so make that four or five inmates . . . I'm in. GS is ready (on time too at BMW Tor), crash bars are on, headlight shield going on tomorrow, and latest Saturday forecast is plus 10 and SUNNY
For those of you who like to use 'tracks' (rather than 'routes') on their Garmin's, I've posted three files below, each has 500 points or less. Upload each of these files into your Garmin and the full route will be viewable.
In addition, the first file (part 1) contains some updated WayPoints (vs. the original file)... you may want to upload these regardless.

I will be there hope the weather holds up... nice to have the first ride dry...
I will be on a red ST1100... nice and warm.
count me in at belfountain(#6?)
I'm interested as long as the weather co-operates. I plan to haul ass from London and catch up in Belfountain. What time and where in Belfountain? Did I read it right in an earlier post 11 am coffee and defrost.
Hopefully I can make this work
