In the words of the famous author, Snoopy; 'it was a bleak and gloomy day.' We shortened up our trip leaving Florida's panhandle. We were pretty sure we would have nice weather until near the north end of the Natchez Trace Parkway (Nashville, TN). Then there would be a lot of precipitation with the possibility of snow in higher elevations. We decided to try to skirt the rain immediately in front of us, then hook to the northeast. We entered Alabama on a back road. As we neared what appeared to be another sleepy south Alabama town, Elba, we were greeted by a surprising sight. Having both spent much of our working years in big trucks we thought it very interesting to find this Dorsey Trailer plant. Not too far past Elba, nearing Montgomery, AL we caught that rain we were trying to stay behind. Some of it heavy. We spent the night at a cheap motel in Sylacauga, AL. .
