My good friend @augiedog used to own it. He would probably enjoy your post on his 'My Rides' thread. You are right, it is a good looker!

Went for a little ride last Saturday. Kind of toward, but not to, Old Fort, NC.

For as many times as I have been through Mill Spring, NC, I had never noticed this little pullout before

Bradford pear blooms have not been too nice in the area this year.

Recently put a new windshield on the bike.

Henderson county, NC is a big producer of apples. With no blooms or leaves or apples they certainly look ominous........

US 176 above Saluda, NC, crossing the Green River. It is a loong way down; trying to show the old bridge

    Mural in downtown Saluda, NC.

Saluda's heritage/reason is the railroad, now long out of service.

Melrose, halfway down the old Saluda Grade (US 176). North Pacolet River.

Trying to show Melrose Falls. Impossible to see after everything leafs out. Barely showing, left of center, bottom. Farther uphill, just above the tree showing some green, you can make out the Saluda Grade RR trestle over Big Fall Creek.

Another view, trestle nearly hidden by trees.

Old shack down on the flats

Bad shot of a really old cabin in the flats above Tryon (Edney).

There used to be an old cabin here. Ruined by the floods a couple years ago. Now they have removed it.

Must be still inhabited, judging by the pickup.

Marvelous old stone warehouse (Edneym Rd)

    Nearby, still above Tryon.

More really old houses, entering Tryon. The cars over there are at a sporting/event field.

If I don't get to this, it will be just like the last ride I didn't post up :hmmmmm. Put new tires on the bike and wanted to test them out. About 150 miles mixed surfaces and just a little damp and they are great.

Screenshot of route, I ride in the Saluda, NC area a good bit, just love US 176 up the hill.

So I went up to Saluda, and circled back down another road, then up the 'dirt' Saluda grade. It had recently been hit by another storm and the tree/brush removal people were busy.

So this is about the best I've seen this little waterfall.

This road has a lot of summer places on it, the road was probably here originally for the railroad. This particular damage did not come from the mess the crews were working on today

Back up in town I skirted around to take a gravel road to Pot Shoals rd; this is a canoe/kayak/tube put-in on the Green Rivier.

Back on the road, a shot from the bridge showing the water pipes bringing water to the power station. A single pipe fills the tank and then there are two pipes to the plant

We'll look a little at Lake Summit in a bit, but that's a pretty big drop from the lake to here. I'm thinking they don't kayak above here!

Heading back toward Saluda on 176. New and old Green River bridges. The single water pipe runs under them.

Went back toward town then over another gravel road to Mountain Page Rd, which runs down to old US 25. A nice piece of old mountain road up to South Lake Summit Rd. Summit Lake has homes all the way around and South Lake Summit is a bit longer than N Lake Summit and is usually a bit trickier though you can't run any speed anyway. First view of the lake; looks like some kind of multiple exposure happened here.

The road starts paved, but is hard packed dirt most of the way.

Bridges across Green River as it flows into Lake Summit.

    Looking toward the lake

How's that for a lake home? It is over on N Lake Summit Rd

Then back up 176 to the paved portion of N. Lake Summit to Smyre Rd, more gravel to Old Zirconia Rd.

This is one of the Old Zirconia Rd RR crossings. Unused as it leads to Saluda grade.

'Downtown' Zirconia, NC, roughly across the street from the Post Office.

Then I went up and over Pinnacle Mountain Rd. Very steep going up, the kind of runs the ridge. I don't even know if this place was here the last time I went over this way but it is really pretty! It is a looong way to the store from here!

Couple of shots of the valley from Pinnacle Mtn Rd

So then I worked my way over to US 276 and came down Caesar's Head. Stopped at the park to have a water, finally got a signal and saw a LOT of rain between me and home. As it turned out I got home about 1/2 hr after the rain passed through; over 1" of rain in under 30 minutes! Couldn't get the camera out quick enough to get this gal rolling.......

Fun ride. Best feeling tires off road I've used and absolutely fine on twisties. Dunlop Trailmax Missions.

So the gang got together for a group ride to the Back Of The Dragon in Virginia. Since the round trip from the Charlotte area meet up was 400 miles, I rode over the day before and spent the night with my pal augiedog.

Only shot I took on the way over to augie's: Mulberry Chapel Methodist Ch, historic African-American church in Cherokee county SC.

Early start, we head out to start meeting up.

We start saddling up after our alfresco breakfast at a donut joint

One of a couple of these we saw heading up. I'm guessing they don't go to nascar events any longer.

The called for 80% chance of rain in the area arrived before we reached Marion and stayed (in varying degrees of intensity) until we returned to about the same stretch on the return ride.

Here we are at Thompson Valley, VA synchronizing for a lunch stop in Tazewell, just up the road a bit.

We found the Front Porch On Main, a lovely old house converted into a restaurant. We had nice tables on the porch so we didn't unnecessarily track up the inside which had a pretty good series of families coming and going.

We were just across the street from the courthouse

Being Sunday we did not have to overly concern ourselves with the creative parking at the Post Office....

Numa took the lead heading back; pretty well acted like it wasn't raining.......

We stopped at the overlook just north of Hungry Mother State Park

I do like a twisty mountain road!

It was a great day of riding; in spite of the weather. Very nice having the group together again. Thanks for leading the first leg of the ride.

A few shots from my ride yesterday to the lower end of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Haven't been able to find any info on this place but it is no longer ginning cotton. I don't know that you can find any cotton in Spartanburg county any longer.

One of my favorite stops on the BRP. At the junction of BRP & NC 215.

The rhododendron are done for the season

A glimpse of 215; not a good place to run off...........

Had a snack while I was there.

And closed a few vents on my suit. Thunder ahead!

So then I thought I would just go to the end of the BRP. Checked the radar about 10-15 miles out and changed my mind. I was going to get there about when this storm did.....

    Looking around from the overlook

I just came from that way

Views off the other side of the overlook

Couple shots from a pullout on 215, just below the Parkway.

This is looking down into Courthouse Valley

And that cloud is hanging on Devil's Courthouse, a popular stop/hike on the BRP.

Remember the earlier shot from Courthouse Valley Overlook of 215? This is about the same location; I was trying to show how steep this cliff is. Hard to do.

So with one more look down on the clouds I prepare for the next hour and a half of riding in some pretty serious rain.
