Thanks guys. It was a nice ride.
Pre-ran a possible loop yesterday.
Couple of views on the way up to Jumping Off Rock.
Headed for that ridge where the power line crosses.
Found a flat spot on a steep road to get those shots.
Mixed & matched some shots.... but I kinda liked it..
Views from JOR.
Note the boat inspecting the shore line.
The view from my lunch stop on the way down Horsepasture Rd.
While I sat eating / watching the view, this juvenile peregrine falcon settled in the tree for a bit. The grown-ups wafted into view (briefly, camera not ready) and he was gone.
Another view toward NC on the way down.
Some views on F Van Clayton hiway.

Stats on the ride. Obviously the top speed is in error (my gps always get max sp wrong. Sometimes by several hundred mph).
Great pictures Loren! My wife and I wanted to ride Pinnacle Mtn but the bike was in the shop, so we drove it. Great area.
Thanks Andrew. Gonna meet those boys Sunday 11-2-14 @ Spinx , 11 &14. About 30 miles gravel. Dual sport ride. 140-150 (?) miles to Saluda NC.
Don't think I knew? Congratulations!
While I'm out of riding for the next several months I sure appreciate all the stories and photos you all put up.
Keep em coming!
Thanks Bill. May The Lord bless you with speedy & complete recovery.

Are those last two from Pinnacle Mtn Road?
Yes. Last 6 are, actually.
Check out my thread...wife and I took the REX up there on Sat. It was goopy but fun
There ya go.
Messed around with some of the shots from JOR Group Ride
Who is that guy? Some serious skills! Looks like an ISDE contender, but with saddlebags.
Some guy we found wandering around......
Went for little ride the other day with my friend Augiedog. It was meant to be a dual sport from Polkville, NC to Erwin, TN. Almost.
Curtis Creek Rd
Blue Ridge Parkway & Curtis Creek
Another way to look at it...........

South Toe River Rd
Old time FS building
Augie's eyes are better than mine, he saw this poster inside the unlit building. Finally got the flash&focus together :huh. Poster tells what to eat when you are hopelessly lost in the woods.
View from a bridge over North Toe River
We ate hamburgers (massive) at the dairy drive in over there.
All the area fire fighters were around a couple turns up there. Police wouldn't let anyone through. So we overate on hamburgers, and went the other way.......... after we were sure that the other road didn't actually go through. It didn't.
Spotwalla on the ride
Went for a ride with some of the Charlotte Hooligans group yesterday.
Augie and Numa arrive at Polkville meet, Bill and I were waiting there.

Spotwalla of my route
Seems like all I get done now days. Wish I could have gone. Herd it was a good ride.
Augie and I rode down to Cocoa, FL last week. Aside from the fact that we both got sick, it was a nice ride. Not too many photos, hard to get them old folks (us) to pull over!
Augie's friend Ed put us up for the night, going and coming. View across the peanut field, south Georgia.
Morning views before we struck off down the road.
We spent the night in Ed's office, a converted houseboat.
Kinda what we were feeling like.
Ocean views, Flagler Beach, FL.
When we stayed at Ed's place coming home, his other guests had left. We stayed in his relocated family house at the pond. He has annual Iron Butt rallys.
