I lost my 13 year companion Buddy in 2000. There have been very few days since that I have not had some memory of him pop up. The good ones like Baylor remain in our lives long after passing from the Earth. We, Your Forum Family are all grieving with you.
The Garth Brooks song "The Dance" Comes to mind....
    "The Dance"

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

    And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

    Holding you I held everything
    For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all

    And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance

Sad to hear Mallory, but Baylor had a most excellent life with you and you with him. Thanks for sharing some of it with us.

Mallory, I see this sad news as I lay in a hotel in Atlanta, about to leave for Cartagena, Columbia. Kind of a circle, in a way. We loved Baylor, a wonderful pup and one who you shared so many fantastic experiences with! Let your sadness be tempered by the fact that you both had the opportunity to enhance not only each other's lives but also those of so many people, Mine and my family's for sure.

The story you told of the late night, unplanned camp, in Alaska I think, where it was blustery and a little scary comes to mind. So sweet, what a pair you two were. He will live with you for all time.

I am honored that I was able to share a little time with him, he really was a buddy to me as well. You were both a true joy to be around. Hope to see you again soon!

Sorry to hear that Baylor passed on. He was a good sport, makes me smile to think of all the silliness you two shared with us.

    Mallory,

So sorry to hear about Baylor. I am wiping back the tears as I read the past couple of pages, catching up on the ongoing adventure of you two. May you find comfort and peace with your loss. It's sad to hear about Baylor passing on, and although we haven't met in person, your story so far has touched a lot of us, including myself. His spirit lives on and rides along with us all.

    Mallory,

I am heartbroken for you. Our furry children mean everything to us!! I once heard a quote, "The best place to bury a good dog is in the heart of its master." He will be with you forever.

    Blessings to you,

    Jen

Mallory I am so sorry for your loss, I know the hurt you are going through and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I have attached a couple of poems for you to read and reflect on your friend and companion Baylor. There is an emptiness when we lose a pet because they are not just a pet they are family.

Mallory saddened when I read of Baylor passing on. What a trip ride he took you on. When you picked out that little pup you did not know what he had planned for you. I say get you another puppy you will have so much to offer each other. Baylor is up there watching you and I think he would want you to do this. When I have lost my best friends in the past I always got me another one. It is not the same but I think you know what I mean. I will always have a dog by my side. RIP Baylor. Ya will be reunited some day.
