Our bouncing baby 20yo boy is coming home on leave and is ready for a rip. We’re talking about a 7-day ride, mostly dirt, from 10/13 to 10/19. We’ll be riding KTM 1090 and 1190 and planning to camp most of it.

I'm looking for GPX tracks running east to west through Oregon.

We'll be riding from just west of Boise to the Oregon Coast. Anyone have a weather or trail update for these sections of the OBDR?

If it's easier, you can email me at marbeeforty"at"gmail.com

    Thanks,
    Jim

Google is your friend, as is Search here on advrider. Using Google I found lots of links to gps tracks for these routes.

    Have fun!

Google isn’t super helpful on specifically narrowing down my request for lateral tracks across Oregon. I appreciate your efforts to get me to “search before you ask”.

Literally have spent the last week of nights combing the webs to no avail. Zero routes from the eastern part of the state to the coast.

Again, if anyone happens to have any tracks that meet my above request, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Jim.

I found these on gpsxchange.com in Jerry Counts Public libraries. No warranty expressed or implied!

    Have fun!

    PCKopp,
Thank you but that was a circular route focused on central Oregon.

Post pics when you can, or link a ride report.
I’ve ridden a lot of the routes, but not for a couple years. There’s not much water to camp on near Burns besides the Malheur. And there’s cows and cow pies most places. Still cool to see. When in doubt, follow the national forests. Safe travels. You could not have hit a better forecast, I think.

Did you ever get a GPX of route 6 that connects with 3? The ones I have are only hwy 5 to coast. I'd like to connect to OBDR route 3 if possible. Did you ever get that part?

Unfortunately no. The week we rode those sections was right after a monster rain/snow storm. We hsd to keep rerouting after each bailout. Still had fun but didn’t really get accurate gpx.

If I end up doing it, I'll post the GPX. I don't think one exists yet for route 6. Not that I could find.

Here is a path from Boise to the Oregon coast. My friend sent this to me.

It is a series of routes. I would probably convert to tracks if I were to ride it.

Also, a few years back ( 2012 or so ? ) there was a Mobius trip report with tracks. Included was a track from Jordan Valley to Crater Lake. These always looked interesting to me.

    Happy to share.

Thanks Phil! That's a bit South but I think we could make a loop of it combined with route 6. (If I can ever find it...)

You have been to this page?
    http://www.oohva.org/OBCDR/route6.html

Some searching turned up this trip report:
    https://advrider.com/f/threads/the-rest-of-the-nw-is-on-fire-oregon-bdr-route-6-solo-ride.1094661/

The good news: There are lots of lat/long coordinates for the pictures.
The bad news: The route is blocked in several places.

Maybe a phone call or $15 for the maps will clear it up.

Thanks PCKOPP. I hadn’t noticed on the OOHVA website before that they had GPS tracks available.
That’s a great trio log. Thanks for your help. Deciding between an old 2013 GPSKevin loop in Oregon and making up a BDR loop starting from Bend.

I would try and talk to someone before I bought the tracks. The trip report I linked to indicated lots of closed roads.

Probably the Oregon route from the TAT might be more up to date.

    Good luck.

I saw that report. Very thorough. Didn't sound like he was giving the route 6 a very good review.

I'm headed out in about two weeks on a big chunk of the obdr. Leaving from coos bay with a group and hoping to do 6,2,5,4,3,6. A lollipop looking route from the coast. I'm not the leader, but he seems to be planning on relying on just the maps that he bought. After looking around and reading I'm guessing that won't be adequate. So I've been trying to learn gps tracks and figure out a backup plan. So far I have route 6 and 5 in Gaia. I'd like 4 and 2. Thanks for all the updates and tips or any GPS you can provide.

What’s are the dates you are going? I will be doing route 6,3,4 and small portion of 5 and can give you a update if it’s after August 9th when I get back
