After riding the best of the western US, and looking for trouble up and down Baja, the Oso Loco tour had one more country to ride in order to complete the North American trifecta: Canada. As a native Californian, it's always surprising to me how much excellent riding there is to be had up north. All the riding areas in CA are under attack, and are being shrunken down in size, or just closed altogether. In contrast, it seems that Canada is wide open. And to top it off, there is more single track than you could ride in a lifetime. The last couple of Oso Loco rides were planned by LittleWan and myself. This time, however, Lica took the helm and organized the ride with help from Radek. All I had to do was show up. Here is a map of where we went. Our fearless (and slightly over-ambitious) leader, Lica (licascurtu) And his right hand man, Radek (rburkat) Bartek (Bartek990) is always down for a good ride. Lica and Radek had been doing some recruiting up north and found two great new prospects. Christian (ADV name?) Is a breath of fresh air. He might be even more enthusiastic than Lica, if that's even possible. He loves riding and isn't afraid to show it. Rebecca (Kelds) kicks ass and takes names. She is really fun to watch, although it can be scary at times. Then there's me. A taste of what's to come.
You're welcome to my basement floor again, though I think we'll be deleting chili from the menu this time around
I love riding the BC interior. Only done it a few times, but I always have that fear in the back of my mind I'm going to fall off a mountain. Part of the exhilaration.
