@thirsty 1 More to come...
Myself and a couple others run FS 23 in Olympic Mountains on Sunday. The snow level is at 3200’. We had a good day all in all. I’m on a 2016 KTM 1190r now. I sold my old bomber about a year and a half ago. I was out riding the pig so she had to go. This Kato is the bees knees!
I almost made it !
I'll give you an 8 for the dismount.
Headed to the base of Mt. Rainier today on 706 National Park Hwy to Paradise, and more snow, but the wash-out was the real bummer. We hiked past it on FS 59, and it was doable, but KC found a no pass washout ditch about a quarter mile up past that. Alls well..
This was from the other side of the above pic.
We headed back down to the Hwy and tried for a workaround on a road i cant find a number for?
But we hit snow again and had to head back down.
All in All not a bad day!!
And just like that the snow was gone except for a tiny bit that @EscrowGS managed to fall over in. All in all a good day was had. Here's some tracks and pics of the days journey. We met up in Lacey, Wa. and headed to Capital Forest SW of Olympia. The Cell Tower was gated solid, but we managed around the one to the fresh log landing on Larch Mountain.
Down hills to the mountains of Olympic National Forest up past Wynoochee Lake. It turned into a really nice day with mostly sun and a few scattered showers - perfect in the mid 60's. The road to Wynoochee is unexplainably fantastic. Loooooong sweepers that accept 100 mph + if you want or just a chilled out pace for the ride. One of my favorites in the state. So after we hit the gravel again its a cut up the mount to Dusk point and a beer or 2 and then down to home for a reset and some planning for Memorial weekend..
some sweet 2 track
The new bike met the earth
Hey! Snow is slippery
Thanks for the GPX file. This looks big bike friendly so maybe @PNW Buttercup and I can find a few days and ride over to do this ride.
I'm IN!! wait... Where are we going...?
Just follow me. . . I'll follow Thirsty's tracks. What could go wrong? We'll chat next time I see you.
You guys will 100% have fun with these tracks. It's like Wallowa type roads on the Ass-o-teen loop!
