That’s too bad. I will think about you as I dodge squirrels and flower petals.

Had the bike out today for a highway spin.
I usually do not ride over the posted speed limit, but today was a different day.
    I fell in behind a BMW car......80 - 85 mph......my how smooth the 700x is! , ahhhhh. Oh, I still received 62 mpg.......including a 15 mph headwind......nice !

Heading out in 32 degrees this morning to go to the “Ride Like a Pro” class. I have a hour ride to get there.
I’m taking the ST 1300 with heated grips and good wind protection today! Besides, why not learn new skills on the more difficult bike to maneuver? The NC would kinda be like cheating.

The class was good. Didn’t freeze. Didn’t drop the bike.
We did a braking exercise, then the rest were slow speed maneuvering exercises.
It was quite different from the MSF classes. If it interests you, you can look up Ride Like a Pro on YouTube to see a lot of what the class is about.

Went to my local Honda shop to buy Honda HP4S engine oil. ......they didn't have any......WTF. SOOOOO , off to Walmart. Thought I'd try the Mobil 1 racing 4t
10w 40. So we'll see how it goes.....all will be well. My 700x stable mate TW200 likes it, so , in it'll go...... : )

Not to start an oil thread, but I use mobile 1 4t 10-40 in mine. Works just fine.

It will work just fine. I’ve used it a few times. 10w-30 isn’t always readily available.

If Mobil 1 made the 4t in 10w 30, I would have bought that, but......not

I know some of us have been dealing with wind buffeting issues and searching for the sweet spot, so I tried something new today. I took off my puig screen and just clipped one of the cheapy air deflectors to the speedo shade. and rode around during my lunch changing the angles and found a really smooth spot where the wind is hitting me just below the neckline but everything above it was smooth. so for summer this will give you enough air but not be so loud in the helmet with the thump thump buffeting noise. Ive tried stock shield, puig, and Madstad. this is better then them for me. Also using Mack's pillow soft silicone earplugs which are super easy and work better than foamies.
edit: 2016 nc700 model for reference. edit#2 my bars are raised about 2 inches and seat is raised 3 with extra foam.
Obligatory pics or it didnt happen:

That’s a 20” Madstad. I think that it is a second generation. I’ve had it probably 5 years.

sorry, correction I did not have the MRA I had the madstad like yours above (I edited my post). was bad for me even with the side deflectors.

little screen I got is out of stock on amazon, but this one is just like it for $23 ish https://www.amazon.com/Justech-Moto...p/B07RYLLVS1/ref=psdc_404685011_t2_B071FJV4CW

Also want to clarify what its like a bit more. you still get wind noise, you are not in a pocket of queit. You get a solid 1 tone noise of wind going by you. And to me its better than the thump thump buffeting sound with a big or tall screen. YMMV
