Tested it too far today, was looking for a road off the track and got caught on a steep incline with no traction and ready to slide down backwards.

Looking for Undullah rd and the GPS said go here, so I did. Asked a bloke on a trail bike if it would hook up and he said it was OK.
Heavily rutted track and when coming to a drop, couldn't see down till too late.
Managed to turn the bike 90Deg to the slope, but lost all traction and started to slide backwards, panniers locked onto a tree, all good but going nowhere fast.
Called 000 for help and the local constabulary came to the rescue.
Got my daughter and her partner to help me get it home in one piece.
Bike just dirty and I am a bit dehydrated and sore, all good.

Which end of Undullah Rd were you looking for, from Ripley or Veresdale?

Compare them from a winching point of view?

Have had a similar experience back in 1972 out the back of Moggill on a Suzuki Honcho 80cc trail bike..... what happened that night is sealed!

Even with an XR250 hand winching got old real quick. We eventually made another track out - but still not ridable.

@ADpete has a good story to tell about his SES rescue requiring 2 4WD's, one a tied anchor to winch the other one down to do the bike winching.
And there was no phone reception either, he got real lucky with an interstate traveller in a remote area after sleeping rough on the ground overnight and running out of water.

Don't take the wrong track off the top of Mt Pinnibar eh.

New cases coming from Italy, insurance paid for loss.
Anyone got any ideas on a retaining system for the new cases to stop me losing them again?

I heard it was running high today, I won't be tackling it any time soon if ever. Getting a bit old for the tech stuff. ;)

The Guzzi engineers must have been reading my mind, they have pretty much addressed every problem I had with the V85 that was stopping me buying one.

Provided they haven't gone stupid with the price I might just be brand swapping from KTM to Guzzi
