Sold my 450 today, sad to see it go but gotta make way for the aussie special.

I still have the safari tank and fairing and seat concepts cover/foam if anyone is after them for a '12/'15.

Also had the 250 turn over 10,000k's today so time for a service.

It's black and soft and had my bum on it.

My phone has crapped out (falling into an irrigation channel will do that) I'll see if I can find a pic, but it's in good condition, no marks on it (including skid) with just a bit of dust under the edges of the cover. You use the standard base.

Quick squirt out in the bush on a YZ250X today, I think I would hurt myself on one of these

Excellent lead in to an electric bike! You can only hold on to it for a short time, then your battery runs out! About 15 min. for me!

I'd have one if they were ADR'd. A bit of flywheel weight and you're good to go.

They are a prick of a thing to pull apart to get the filter out - always worried the plastic is going to break . . .

at 20 something thousand km my 450 started running like shit - would die if you cracked the throttle or tried to ride at anything above about 2/3 throttle

pulled the fuel pump apart & washed the filter out & it was like new again

about 2000km later, bike won’t start on button or kick
Pull pump out & dismantle it again, clean filter, put it all back together & bike starts first kick . . .

I try & run a filler sock most of the time, but some servo pumps ( especially ones that seem to aerate or froth up the fuel. You can pour straight out of a jerry can no problem ) seem to have a real issue with it

anyway, it’s a shit of a design from Yamaha having the filter so inaccessible- they don’t even list it as a part or mention it in their otherwise excellent service manual

This. There's probably a few owners out there who are more than a bit tired of sorting out pump/filter/injector/tank issues with [expensive] brand new motorcycles.....

Filter socks + remove tank and have a look every now and then.

Never buy at a servo if you see a fuel tanker recently.

The occasional splash of metho to remove water.

Try and remove the dirt before you pull the cap off......

Ive never done any of that on any bike, apart from making sure i don’t drop dirt in from a cap anyway
