Perfect conditions for it, hard to believe how soaking wet it is in some places and almost dry in others

I have been seriously considering updating my 09 450 F to a 2021 250 F for single track punting . Bloody thing about it is though , the 250 was a bit over $ 12 K back 12 months ago , now they are a bit over $ 14 K ride away :becca here in Newkedrsole , .......... dunno :hmmmmm if I want a new one quite that much . Had a look at the second hand market for a 250 , they have cottoned onto the price rise there , wanting well over $10 k for a late model moderately used one :knary . I may end up with another brand and possibly a smoker the way this is looking at the moment . Local dealer is offering a 21 Husky TE 300 for $ 16.6 K ride away , $1100 below recommended retail :-) . Decisions , decisions :confused . Also went into the Sherco dealer , no new stock not already paid for until at least April for a 300 SEF at a few Hundred dollars more than the WR 250 :snore . Waiting for the local Gas Gas dealer to open come Monday to see what the situation is there with pricing and availability :ear . Kato 350 is also a consideration as I am a big lump of lard to haul about , but the Orange people tend to ask a bit of a premium for their bikes too :eyes . I am just wondering how many stomach knots I'll have developed by the time I work out what I am actually going to do in this predicament . Yep , first world problems I know :scratch .

Have you tried all these bikes?? If you tend to keep them for years then buy the one you enjoy riding the most! The difference in price, over five years, is less than a cup of coffee a day.......

Upkeep and resale value both come into the equation , I don't have an income any more , so miles for smiles V's $$$$ is what it is all about . Not real keen on flapping off the back of a high horsepower machine either at 60 yrs of age (so the Husky is probably not on ), more into a bike that makes it easy to ride smoothly and efficiently with good suspension that does not need thousands of dollars spent on it to set up correctly and something similar to maintain regularly . That is why I have the 450 F , it has been a good jigger for the 10 years and 15,000 + km I have owned it , it's getting to be a bit of a handful in the tight going though , so a 250 / 300 / 350 F is my preferred option , plus here in NSW , a new bike does not need a road worthy inspection for the first 5 years , so that cuts out shed time to add back on all the bits each year for rego we take off for bush riding when a new bike is purchased . Yep , again , first world problems . No one can help me , and I am not asking for opinions , just putting finger to keyboard is helping me sort through my mental processes to make a decision on which way to go and if I go at all .

Hey mate, i ride with a bloke who you know who rides a wr250 and loves it and would much prefer it over my 450 and you cant tell when your riding with him. The 350's are a very easy to ride bike and though i have only spent a day on one it was in all those hard singles from the 4 day up cedar, but i have gone a little smaller with my new one.

Just before I bought my 350 (March/April) I had narrowed it down to a 2015 (I think) or newer WR250 or a KTM/'Berg/Husky350. Just before I was ready to buy I saw a few nice low K WR250fs between $6K and $8K, But I picked up my 350 for under $6K so went with that (couldn't see any WR's at the time I had the money). A few months later and used prices were shooting up I was tossing up weather to sell my 350 and get a WR, but then saw the prices were pretty much as you found, so I stuck with the 350.

I do like the 350, but doing it again I think I would have held out for a WR (going mainly by the way I seem to like way all the WRs and YZs I have ridden felt...

Also in the market again - like others, looking at the pros and cons of 250-450 classes

The 21 WR450F is all new, and looks great

The 21 250F seems to be pretty much the same as the 20 model - some savings possible there, although you probably lose more in resale than you gain at purchase

To me the KYB suspension is a must now - and interesting that the up-specced Betas and Shercos both run it front and back - Beta's 390 Racing and Sherco's 300 SEF Factory are very nice ...

I picked up this banger earlier today. I can't wait to take it out this afternoon. I'll report back later on, assuming I survive
