first off, as the former owner of a '14gt, i almost threw a fit when the mts-e was announced/released about 3 weeks after i took delivery of my gsaw. Siiiigh. Im looking at different tires for my gsaw, and these pirelli scorpion rally str tires that are optional on the mts-e caught my eye. How are people liking them on and off road? Can you post some pics of the tread pattern and depth? As of now, i think mts-e owners with this option are the only people that have ridden them....
Good on paved, actually very good (don't know how). I have not tried truly of road yet, but it felt ok on fire roads Here is a picture on the bike with the tires (after a 3h detail)
I don't think that the MTS enduro had the STR tires in 2016, those are the standard rally. The Rally STR were just release at the Intermot in Cologne in Oct 2016. They should be available this month but only in 120/19 from 170/17 back. More sizes coming later. https://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/motorsport/motorcycle/scorpion-rally-str
YEah that's what people have said, but man those lugs on the rear tire look like the STR profile....interesting.
I thinkt those are both STR? could be mistaken...the top pic looks like a wider tread void. I cant even find the Scorpion Rally in the right size for a GS, though....
That top pic is from the ADV shoot out. Im pretty sure the Tires are Rally STR's, given the bikes that it was fit to all run that same size as the scrambler. They probably got those rally's to demo. The normal Scorpion rally doesnt have the sipes/dimples in it.
Thanks, and yes, I triple check this morning, and the tires are Pirelli Scorpion Rally (sorry). At least I got a change to show up the bike
