For anyone on the fence, this Rally location is great! All levels of riding are available, you can ride hard stuff, easy stuff, road. All sorts of things to do and see! You don't have to cook anything if you don't want to! You can walk to many restaurants. You can even do what I did one year: forget all of your camping gear, then walk across the street to Wally World and picked up a budget camping set up.
There are showers, restrooms, secure parking, and the city builds us a fire pit.
what is not to like?
And out. Hope to see you at Noobs 22
Jeff. if you change your mind in the next few months, you know where to find us.
hope the XR600 project is coming along trouble-free. don't be shy to seek the help of an XR400 specialist, the difference is only 200!..lol
take care and see you soon.
Just cut out the middleman and camp in the wallmart parking lot
big savings there...but why wait for the rally when you can camp at wally's anytime. the more you do it, the more you save.
seriously, hope you could join us!
I believe the policy for camping at Walmart is you can have no more than 2 teeth. However, you can share those among your group.
... carte blanche for youtube star
I'm thinking about more riding for this thing. Maybe before, or after or both. Depends on some scheduling stuff, I'm working now. Before works better than after. Sort of thinking up the mid-coastal stuff. Backroads and such.
You can count on me fam, I love these things and Pahrump is only a 90 minute drive for me!
shorter distance if you take Red Rock Canyon...
we all camped at the parking lot at least once, not bad just stay away from the commercial big trucks. they get up at 4 am and fire up their engines. then there are the RVs with their generator running during sacred hours. tough going to be budget-conscious....can't have both.
what is this "working"....already bored being a retiree? you need another bike to farkle.
Motorcycle stuff. I am just finishing up forking this one. Schedule is worked out. So, before the rally, I'll be wandering around a bit. I won't need to be camping at Walmart. I've done my time sleeping in parking lots. BTW, the KOA inn Salt Lake City is across the street from the switching yard for the trains. Train horns started about 2:30AM. I gave up and left town before 5. It was 107° later that day there.
A good place not to be.
Then there are the two campgrounds off I-80 in Nebraska and Wyoming. All trucks all the time. In Nebraska a group of loud Harleys rolled in about 2am snuck a campsite for a while then rumbled away around 5.
I'll be avoiding such things in the future.
this reminds me a few years ago, someone arrived in camp at 1 am and instead of camping with the rest of us, he set up his tent far enough so not to disturb anyone. then moved closer in the morning.
at the noobs, one guy came in past midnight and drove in and around the camp for few times until he found his friends’ campspot. wtp!
Paid for 1 ride in but I may have not checked the FnF so I could be short. Let me know.
Paid RV Electric….IN!!
thank you guys for getting this on your calendar. it's fun to have old and familiar characters around. of course, we always love to see new faces too.
i updated the REGISTRATION by removing the portion that you have to bring proof of vaccination. there's really NO need for it since we're just a small and responsible group of people. besides, i don't really want to run this rally like a travel institution, likewise, the situation has gotten better and many establishments never really asked for it.
i was riding last weekend, the freeways are packed, restaurants are busy, and places, where people recreate are back to pre-covid level. that's good to see life goes on. the traffic would be worse for all motorists, luckily here in CA we can lane split on our bikes.
ALSO..please note that spouses and family members are welcome...i forgot to clarify that. others might think that is free and included with the registration. i edited by saying they have to register and pay like everyone else.
In, tenting. paid-up and looking forward to November!
