It was a lovely evening for a ride
The word is that they're now open. No foolin', I'm droolin.
Oh yeah! Road trip!!
I checked their website...If it wasn't for you, folks would have no idea where they are located, just a hint. I've been through a couple of times and Dayton is swell small eastern Wa. town.
Maybe check them out next time I'm in the area..
The restaurant business is a tough one to find long-term success with. I wish them well. We're rarely in Dayton but next time we're heading to Walla Walla we'll check them out.
Well heck, I’m going there for breakfast, it’s a nice ride. Might be a while since I think I just blew my medial collateral in my right knee.
Might turn out to be a nice drive.
Just ruined your knee, that sucks.
I keep thinking I should get up early and have lunch at huhot in Missoula.
Tomorrow being Memorial Day, day trip to Leavenworth to visit the grave of my cousin and then back home
If you are ever in the Ralston village (South of Ritzville) worth stopping at the park... information about a local guy, Metal of Honor, killed in WWII. This guy.
My fun for the weekend was an afternoon ride to Pierce and back. Mostly beautiful ride with lots of Camas blooms filling the meadows.
Got to talk to a nice Clearwater Deputy, warned about 10 over. Told him honestly was trying to maintain 50ish but could not easily see my speedo in the low sun and was going by engine sound.
Not the first time, this knee had a patellar tendon transplant about twenty years ago. I was in Florida gator hunting when I did it. Back in town now and headed to Tri-State walk in clinic for the bad news.
I can relate and feel your pain.
TKR at 52 left side. Previous ACL that side.
ACL/MCL at 41 right side. Bad arthritis now.
Fake right knee for 2.5 years, so far pretty good.
I figured the walk-in clinic would look at it and refer me to a specialist, and that's what they did. I will call this morning and set up a consultation.
Bets on surgery? I still want to make the Enterprise Beater Bike etc but it looks like it'll be in the truck and on crutches.
I'm not sure how many riders are interested in long distance dirt rides, but the weather in Northern Idaho is going to be very Adventure Bike friendly this weekend, so thought I would see if there was anyone interested in joining a ride from Athol, Idaho to Wallace, Idaho on Saturday. If we hit snow (unlikely given the heat this week) we will divert to other trails. I've ridden a 500 pound machine in the snow, and it can be a challenge and requires expert skill. I usually grab breakfast in Athol and then head into the mountains, eating lunch in Wallace. I've ridden my wife (and dog) on this trip at least 30 times, so this is a good ride for riders who are least an intermediate level rider in the dirt, as we need to keep a good pace. The ride is about 100 miles, so doable on all stock Adventure bike tanks.
Let me know if anyone is interested....
Lady-Bug can start a new challenge Class?...You probably aren't the only one........
Got tired of the insurance runaround. Referral took two days, and the orthopedic doctor can't see me until June 28!! I explained that I can't walk, can't straighten my leg, can't work, and I hurt. "We know, so how about 8AM on the 28th?" She did say that If I got an MRI they would review it and maybe move me up.
So, lot of phone time, MRI approved, and off to a different clinic close to work in Pullman. Total contrast. Fast, professional, concerned, helpful. Leg doc was appalled that the walk-in A) didn't tell me to stay off it, and B) gave me the wrong knee brace. Completely wrong, not even close. Set me up with a knee brace that actually helps, and wrote me a note to stay home until next Thursday. He said stay off it, ice it, and don't put weight on it. I have an MRI Tuesday at 6PM.
All this is an improvement but I'm worried by the amount of concern about me walking on it for the last few days. More certain of surgery now.
So, beautiful weather, can't ride, can't work.... sitting on my butt here with a bag of ice. Might as well start drinking, since you can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning, and I still don't have any pain meds. They recommended Tylenol, which isn't really helping.
Anybody up for lunch/breakfast GTG this weekend? You guys can ride, bastards, I'll take the Camry.
Climbing into that Camry might hurt as much as a bike. I had a Camry a couple years and sold it cause it was so hard to get in and out, and no power. I hate boring cars.
