:clap Can't see any pics at my stupid work site since they shut off that type of thing. But even without the pics, great story, RR.

Your technical expertise is noted

Don't be fooled by his modesty. He's also a bad-ass rider.

Thanks guys.... After I got the bike fixed Oly said to come back to Ballarat to spend the night.

I found them and made some dinner. Shrimp-a-roni.

It was a great night considering I didn't make it to the cabin for with the rest of the guys. Oly and istatdm were chilling and then septicskeptic shows up with ca stu in tow. hahaha.

Stu had a bottle of jager and after a couple shots the sky was spinning and i heard burros.

Saturday morning I ride up to panamint springs and meet up with spafxr and friends. Six of us head out to cerro gordo and darwin loop.

    Pics of the riders

I'm gonna start packin a 5" chain section, 2 master links, and the breaker. Don't need any hose for the aircooled bike.

My last crash while being towed was a solid hit, took out my kill switch and starter button.

Luckily I carry a wiring diagram in my tank bag, and with my Swiss Army Knife and some electrical tape I was able to bypass the swith and hotwire the starter, but after that, every time I started the bike my main fuse would blow. :bluduh

Oly suggested that the tow rope had made either my heated grips or 12v power outlet short out, so (after popping 2 more fuses) we disconnected both of them and sure enough, the bike ran like a champ and no more problems.

I still haven't taken it apart to find the short, but I have all the parts now and I plan to be out there in January for DVDaze to run Pleasant and South Park.

    Thanks
    CA Stu

PS I am going to fins one of those portable chain breakers and attach it to my KLR. A friend of mine had one and a short length of chain zip-tied to his KLR where where the charcoal canister used to be, seems like a great idea. :thumb
