Glad y'all like the pics! Now as for the golden goose: keep in mind this trip was taken in a Honda Fit, and my average mpg was close to 40. And there were 8 nights of tent camping, which of course is cheap. And there were 5 FREE hotel stays courtesy of my Marriott Rewards Visa card. Yeah I splurged on food/beer, but apart from that I was spending like a true KLRista. CO and MT are Microbrew Paradise, ya know, and this was no time to cheap out on beer!:1drink

Ahhh. So nice to have something PLEASING to soak in on a quiet Sunday morning with a fresh cup of coffee (beside all the other crap that's so prevalent on the interwebs).
    Thanks again, Inept. :clap

You know there are actually people who live in the mountains who want to visit places where there is a beach and emerald green water. Go figure.

We all want what we don't have. And I want mountains. But then I don't want snow and months of freezing cold either.

Anyway mornin all. Enjoy what you have and what you want.

That would be Hawaii.. or any central/south american country where the mountains meet the sea.

Sounds like the Santa Monica Mountains to me. Take yer pick: Malibu, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, or Woodland Hills. And bring sweaty handfuls of cash! A couple mil oughta do it, unless ya wanna get fancy. Ya won't hafta worry about KLRistas in yer neighborhood. Or anywhere else in yer whole county, for that matter.:D

I did manage to activate Stealth Mode for a quick run thru the area one time, made it out before the residents even knew there was a KLR among them:evil

I'd take mountains or beach, because here we got nada. Unless 1400 square miles of suburban sprawl tickles yer fancy. :bluduh

"One more year" is what I keep telling myself :lol3

It's hard to beat riding in the Rockies, for ~6 months outta the year anyhow. I reckon you'd need a snowmobile for the entire winter, plus early spring and late fall...if southern Virginia is too cold for me, I'm pretty sure CO is right outta the question.:vardy

Hit a milestone aboard Ye Olde KLR today, and I'm thinkin I might should sell this old bike while it's still running halfway decent:jinx

I bet one of you POGs knows the story behind this pic. This here is no Doolittle plane, and it's on a carrier, sho nuff. Here all this time I thought the Doolittle planes were the only B-25s flown off carriers...I googled "B-25 aircraft carrier" and all the results were related to the Doolittle mission. So what's this B-25G doing on a carrier, anyway?:scratch

It's a PBJ-1, which was the Navy/Marines version of the B-25. They were mostly land-based but also were capable of carrier operations.
