I tell ya what Maestro, I may be a Certified Old-Timer and all, but those pics are just a bit before my time! Or hell, maybe I was there, and I just forgot.:gerg

Barney, those pics are muy excelente! Izzat somewhere in CO? The view from your tent in the next to last pic is exactly the kinda wake-up-in-the-AM view I'd drive across the country for. Heading west next month, gonna see Crater Lake. Oughta be a good bit cooler out there--they just got the North Entrance Road cleared of snow the last week of May...:thumb

Yea these are oldies for sure. I really got a kick out of the 45 to 33 plastic converters and the steel strap on skates...:evil

Anyway - be careful on the trip west YOUNG MAN ...:clap

    Alright now Maestro, ya gotta make up yer mind--am I a Certified Old-Timer or a Young Man?? I mean, c'mon, I can't be both.:lol3

As it turns out, I'm (just barely) old enough to remember 45 to 33 converters, my parents didn't jump on the cassette bandwagon until '79 or thereabouts, so I listened to a buncha records as a wee lad. I remember listening to Batman/Spiderman "audio comics" on 33s, and I had this one record of nothing but movie sound effects, I wore that sucker out!

When we got our first cassette player, my little sister and I spent hours recording ourselves singing, doing impersonations, making fun of Pee Leak, etc. What I wouldn't give to have copies of those tapes right now...

OK, here are a couple sunset inspection pics from my recent pilgrimage to Old Virginny. Spent a night at Mile High Campground just off the BRP outside Cherokee NC, great views up there. Here's the view from my hammock:

Some of the sites had an even better view:

Been going through old photos with visiting family and these popped up. I loved that CZ shirt and the photos shows me at a very happy time in my life.

Long hair and a facial hair... odd for me.

Anyone know what rear wheel we are looking at in second pic?

Hey Im old and board on Sunday!

Off a DKW with 40 hole Akront rim?
Knobby pattern reminds me of a Barum.
Rounded sidewall says I could be wrong.

    Damn you are good.

It was actaully off a 250 Penton with KTM engine. But you got the Akront and Barum tire correct. Good call!

I got a big percentage off on Barum tires when I was riding the CZ.

    Lucky guess Vic.
Just remembered your picture of the Deek.
You threw out the bait and I took it.
Know that several British motorcycles would have sprockets that bolted to the brake drum.
Some Nortons, Triumphs, BSA's and Vincents.
Gotta be a bunch more european marques that did that.
