    Hi there,

I wanted to open this thread to gather experiences with pannier racks on the 790.

So far I’m in the market for a narrow solution, especially on the left side, that keep the pillions foot pegs in place.

Would be nice if you could post your pannier rack and maybe give a measurement for the width.

    Thanks everyone!

The width of what? The rack itself, or with the panniers?

I did a video when i mounted the KTM OEM pannier rack on the 790R, there are meassures in the video. I actually don't use the racks other than protection and to lift the bike. Whhen using softluggage the help to protect the bike from wear or to support softbags even if the rack is not primary fasting points. The rear pegs are still there with the OEM rack.

I have only had the OEM, but i am very happy with them. They do retain the passenger pegs.

I was kind of looking at the happy trails rack and panniers, right now there is a pretty good discount on them. Anybody use them in the past?

I did some research on the Givi racks.
According to the picture (from Givi.it) with the Trekker Outback panniers the width is 105cm.
    Adjustments.jpg

The 48l pannier is 306mm and the 37l is 246mm.

    So 105cm - 30,6cm - 24,6cm = 49,8cm wide would only the rack be.

Sounds too good to be true.

FWIW either bumot or advmotorrad display the various widths with their different sized hard panniers.

I have BUMOT racks with both the hard and soft luggage for my R1250 GSA. Like them a lot. I ordered the racks from AdvMotorrad along with the toolbox for the 790R. . Plan to run the soft bags most the time on the 790. I can run the hard boxes if i want. I’ll post up some pics this weekend.

Always impressed with the service from AdvMotorrad. I placed he order for the racks along with a toolbox. They called to see if I wanted my new toolbox keyed the same as the GSA. I wouldn’t have thought about it until I had two keys in my hand. Not a huge thing, but two thumbs up to them for staying on top of the small stuff!

I was talking to the German Givi customer service. They confirmed that their racks are 26cm (right) and 24cm (left) wide.

What I noticed: the Givi racks are lower than others.

Just installed my Rade Garage racks, the measure 19.5"" or about 50 CM. I'm running Kreiga OS-32 bags which are about 8" each when they are stuffed so a total of about 36"
