and the middle end
Does your DR Jr. have the rare rider-determined Neutral or the standard random/odd-numbered Thursdays/whenever the bike feels like it Neutral?
Yessir I wrote the book on mechanically inept as well as several other kinds of inept, and even I haven't managed to kill a bike yet. (I did kill one German car however.) Hatch made a good choice with the Nighthawk S for his buddy, I had one for 4 yrs and it was absolutely the least maintenance intensive bike I've ever owned, by far. A bulletproof shaft drive, air cooling, and hydraulic lifters turned routine maintenance into just oil/filter changes, and an occasional peek at the air filter. Sold that bike with ~40K on the odo and the only thing it needed was a clutch, I'm kinda surprised the original clutch lasted that long considering the abuse it endured. What can I say, I was a young dumb gazoonie.
I've only had it up to third
No tag yet so haven't left the neighborhood, but yea it clicks confidently into neutral like my old XT. Definitely getting some nostalgic vibes, like this is a bigger better XT for me
Then you might just have a keeper-- that wonky Neutral thing was endemic to DR Jrs, mine (which was later Buzz's) included.
Good luck Jerry-- there's a ton of potential with that platform when applied to its Strong Suit envelope
Yabbut, what oil should I use?
Obviously a flavor of:
Throw a TM33 on there @Hatch you can thank me later
No, a Kenda Trakmaster II 33 inch rear tire. (Yes, a carb)
Yeah, one uge ass trakmaster!
The pumper really makes the bike come to life.
Damn, yall caught me
I definitely don't want no 33 on my bike.
It's a good thing I cover the front brake and rear whenever and wherever I ride.
35mph and an elderly woman makes a left 60 foot in front of me. I could feel both wheels skidding before I stopped 5 foot from her car, because of course she stopped in the middle of my lane when she realised what she had done.
Hope she could not read lips or hear what I was yelling because she is probably a real nice person.
At least I saw what was going to hit me, unlike PK.
DID YOU HONK YOUR GODDAMNED HORN AT HER!!!!?
Glad you pulled off the save, Kelly!
It's a good thing that horn was the last thing on my mind
Stopping first is mo impotent....
Nice job, Kelly.
Need a get back whip for such occasions
And if not stopping, getting speed reduced as fast as possible to enable steering to a better outcome.
Easier said than done when we're talking milliseconds
